Thoughts and Rating on Thunderbolts*

Woke up this morning had breakfast and coffee then went straight to the theater to watch the movie Thunderbolts*.
I haven’t watched all of the Marvel movies, but this movie felt different than the ones I have seen.
I’ve been interested in where they’re taking the story after Avengers: End Game and getting back I into the MCU after watching Captain America: Brave New World.
For me, Thunderbolts* had a more dramatic feel than the superhero adventure stories I’m used to getting from Marvel. The movie focused on more serious topics like mental health, forgiving yourself, and finding support in the people around you to overcome difficulties more so than one hero's ability to level up and beat up bad guys to save the day.
Although the overall feel of the movie was more dramatic, Marvel did get some of their typical Marvel stuff off throughout the film as well. There was a big focus on teamwork as I've seen in more of the recent movies. The moments that reminded you of cool scenes from past Marvel movies. They included characters that you may recognize from previous shows and movies. They help tie in storylines from other movies like Brave New World. And the way they constructed the Thunderbolts* team felt pretty familiar.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie though. I enjoyed the action, the storyline, and the overall message behind the film. I haven't watched all of the Marvel movies or any of the shows, but was still able to follow the events that took place although one of the movie's main characters, John Walker or US Agent, was a character from The Falcon and Winter Soldier series. The movie was more serious but The Red Guardian brought just the right amount of comedic relief.
If you go watch the movie, be sure to stick around for both end-credit scenes. I almost missed the second scene but was luckily sitting next to someone who had watched the movie 3 times.
I watched the movie alone, but this would be a great movie to watch with a friend. If I had to give Thunderbolts* a rating, I would rate the movie:
8.8/10

Ohhhhhhhh. I haven’t seen a lot of Marvel movies either. In fact, I can count on one hand how many Marvel movies I have seen. This however, maybe it’s your review (which is done marvellously well) but I’m tempted to watch it. I do like action and drama. Hehe.
