CineTV Contest: Gone With The Wind; Too Much, But Classical.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Sometimes, when watching movies, it feels like the actors know exactly what’s happening in my life. In other words, I can say that I see my life on my television screen.
Life comes with its ups and downs but that gives us more experience and acts like a guide on the same mistake.
This means, we shouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

Movies may be too much at times but when it reasonates with your life or what you’re going through, it gets to make sense. Gone With The Wind is a movie that I feel is too much but worth the watch and deserves a hype.

Plot

Scarlett learned that Ashley, her crush is about to get married to his cousin, Melanie. She then finds a way to make an advance on Ashley but he rejected. However, she caught the attention of Rhett, a guest at the party.

Melanie and Scarlett eventually became friends after Melanie gave birth with the help of Scarlett. However, Scarlett never stopped crushing on Ashley. To make Ashley jealous, she married Charles but he died while serving in the confederates states army.

Eventually, Rhett finds a way into Scarlett’s life. He proposed to Scarlett and she accepts. They both named their daughter Bonnie but Scarlett never stopped liking Ashley even after telling her that he’s never going to leave Melanie.

Desperately, Scarlett found a way for she and Ashley to embrace each other. The rumor spread and Rhett heard about it and files a divorce.
Then, Scarlett realized that it was Rhett she has always loved and all she has for Ashley was just infatuation.

Even though the movie is interesting, it’s just too much and that’s why I skipped some unnecessary parts of the movie in my summary.

Scarlett’s mother didn’t play a huge role in the movie. So, why include her death in the movie? I feel the actors and producers of the movie just wanted to achieve making a longer movie and that’s why they added that but to me, that part of Scarlett’s mother’s death is irrelevant.

How about Charles? His death was also unnecessary. They could have made the movie seem like “Scarlett kept trying to get Ashley’s attention but it didn’t work out and that’s why she ended up with Rhett instead of marrying Charles and then, Rhett when she really loves Ashley.

Nevertheless, it is an interesting movie. The fact that it’s too much never stops it from being an interesting movie.

This story truly resonates with my current lifestyle. I’m just like Scarlett but my experience eventually made me know that people love who they love no matter how you try to get them.

Ashley truly loved Melanie. If it were someone else, he must have taken that as an advantage to cheat with Scarlett on Melanie but he didn’t do that. That’s just me. I remember loving someone who never loved me. I had one guy begging me almost everyday to be his girlfriend and he really seemed serious about it but I thought I was making the right decision by loving someone who doesn’t love me. It ended in tears for me.

I just loved how Rhett walked out on her and left for Atlanta. That’s the best. I think we humans should learn to appreciate those who appreciate us. Scarlett never appreciated Rhett and she shouldn’t make him a second choice all because the man she loved didn’t love her.

Do you know my favorite scene? It’s funny how the scene that’s my favorite turned out to make me cry. After ignoring, yelling and sending away the man who loved me, I begged him.
This time, he didn’t walk out on me but made me know that he now has one whom he truly loves. I just wish I didn’t reject him earlier.

I cried while Scarlett cried in the movie. I was sad. Scarlett didn’t want to lose Rhett and I missed the man I sent away. I don’t know if he will ever come back but if he does, I’ll ask us to watch *Gone With The Wind together so he can see how I felt in his days of absence.

I enjoyed the “too much movie”. It was worth my watch and I learned not to ever chase away those who truly love me.
It’s a 9.5/10 rating even though it’s too much.

I enjoyed watching it.
