CineTV Contest: Hard Target; My Favorite Fighting Scene.

Many things take me back to the good old days. Just like the good old days when fighting movies used to be my favorite. The likes of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Van Damme, Donnie Yen and others were my heroes and superstars just because of their fighting skills in movies.

It got to the stage when I started to practice the things I learned in fighting movies. I believe that there is always that one scene which stands out in all fighting movies. For my favorite fighting scene, it exists in a movie titled Hard Target by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Plot of the movie

A Vietnam war veteran in the United States named Douglas Binder is the target of a hunt. Unfortunately, Douglas fell into the trap and was killed by three rivals.

Natasha, Binder’s daughter decided to go in search of her father but was attacked by a group of punks who felt she had some money with her. Then, the homeless man, Chance Boudreaux came frome nowhere and saved Natasha with his exceptional martial arts skills. Eventually, Natasha hires Chance as her bodyguard while in search of her father.

While in search of her father, Chance decided to help as well but was beaten to a pulp by Van Clef, one of those who killed Binder. At last, Chance finds out that Binder was murdered and he fights for Natasha. He then kills all the men who were involved in the murder of Binder.

This makes me remember how I screamed back then while watching this movie saying “this man can fight”. Chance Boudreaux in Hard Target was so good in fighting that there was a particular kick he gives to people to knock them down.

My favorite fight scene in Hard Target is the final fight. The final fight where Chance Boudreaux singlehandedly fought over ten guys and killed them all.
At some point, I got scared. I was so eager to know if Chance Boudreaux will be killed or not.

Everytime, the scene got me standing up on my feet with my heart beating fast thinking that Chance Boudreaux was going to get killed.
Also, it felt like he was always in a tight corner. Before he was done shooting an enemy, there must have been another enemy at his back so it kept looking like he was going to be killed.

One thing that surprises me was the way Chance Boudreaux flew from the ground to a hole up just to protect himself. And one surprising thing is how he managed to dodge the bullets and there was no single bullet that hit him.

Do you know the most interesting thing about this fighting scene? Chance Boudreaux didn’t only show his shooting skills but brought his martial arts skills into it. We never would be able to tell what he’s going to do next and all that entertained us was the way he defeated over ten men.

What a great fighter! I know I’ve watched more fighting movies and seen amazing fighting scenes as well but what makes this unique is the ability of Chance Boudreaux to defeat so many men at once.

I think this contest has prompted me to watch this movie again and I will surely do so.
If I’m to rate this fighting scene, it will be a 9/10. It’s not totally perfect but everything looked real like it did happen.

You’ll love it when you watch it.
Thanks for reading.
