My rating for his animation movie is 4/10 (I'm sorry but it's my options haha) I was not impressed, not even a bit :)

I watch this cartoon as soon as it came out and I will say it was not what I was expecting. The reason why it is a review it's because everyone do have their interest and expectations and my opinion might not be the same with any other person that have watched this cartoon so you might want to as well watch it for yourself if you haven't but this below is my sincere view. Wish is a Disney presented animation and for those of us that are Disney lovers I hope you where not disappointed? Haha

This Disney release is less than you hoped it would be or at least for me. We have a magical Kingdom ruled by a Powerful Sorcerer-King who takes the dreams from people to "protect them". Upon their 18th Birthday, people go before the King where their "Dream" is extracted from them (They forget their dreams in the process) and the King " protects them. The townsfolk are happyish, presumably because they have no pressure to strive to make their dreams come true. The King needs a new apprentice so our heroine applies and learns the truth.

The King has no intention of granting any wishes and has taken the dreams to protect the town from bad influences. Chaos ensues. The best part of this movie was the Inside Out 2 preview. That movie will be awesome. This movie, OTOH, was not. The musical portions (Yes the characters do break out into song a bit too often) are nothing more than dialog being sung and will never be sung by anyone, anywhere else. This isn't Frozen.

The characters are all under developed and even the formulaic comic relief (a talking goat) is pretty lame. It almost seems as if the movie was made up of parts of other stories that weren't good enough to complete. If you want to see a movie involving wishing upon a star, go see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Wish is probably the most generic Disney Film ever made. It really deserved better. After all, the writers include Jennifer Lee (Frozen, Wreck-it Ralph and Zootopia) and Chris Buck (Frozen, Tarzan, Pocahontas).

You'd think that they could have made this a compelling story. All I can think of is that this movie was written as a knife in the back of the studio just before the Writer's Strike. The only redeemable parts are the occasional Easter eggs referencing other Disney Films. I predicted that it will be available on Disney+ before Christmas but don't know for now as I write this review. It's hard to believe that this movie came from the same studio that brought us Encanto, Coco, Frozen and Inside Out.

Fun: Mildly entertaining at best.

Preachy: Not really, the best I can figure, the only real message is "Hold onto your dreams".

Oh I know that one. I liked it. The fact that water and fire could be together. I could only imagine how warm it must have been for them. It was as well very much emotional at the end seeing how her father give her his blessings despite not getting one from his Dad
