[Movie] Disclosure Day Review

I do love any movies to do with alien invasions or aliens. I do think we are not alone and we are approaching the real disclosure days so I was interested to watch this film and see Spielberg back in action especially in this kind of genre. I went down a rabbit hole the other day about what different aliens have already been discovered and are walking amongst us. The good greys , the bad greys, the nordics, the repilians and the insectoids. The greys are the ones that we consider look like the token aliens. But they were losing a 1000 year intergalactic war so they decided to clone themselves but take empathy out and made the bad greys. Needless to say the bad greys came back to bite them on the arse and practically wiped their originators out. Anyway I was intrigued reading all of this especially the bit about the Earth being protected and some of the baddies just found out about Earth so are currently giving weapons to the USA, China and Russia to prepare us for the invasion of the flying ants. This was all very riveting for me to read. It was like reading the script to an Avengers film. I told the wife this story and she looked at me with disgust so I am secretly hoping for an invasion anytime soon to give her that smug look when something from Starship troopers is setting fire to the next door neighbour with a precision laser. Anyway to the film review.
Disclosure Day was not what I expected. I found it very good actually and I was pretty much invested in it the whole way through. The cast were amazing. Bono's daughter, Eve Hewson is an excellent actress. Emily Blunt has is weird good looking to pull off her role. Let's get the actress with the piercy-est eyes. Colin Firth , when he is not doing period dramas is quite a good baddie. And Daniel Kellner who plays Daniel was quite good even though I never really seen him before in things.
The film starts by an IT guy working for an intelligence agency going rogue with the evidence of aliens in his bagpack. He also has a shard type object that I can only describe as being very Splinterlands like. Meanwhile a weather woman in Kansas City sees a bird coming through her window and starts speaking fluent Russian, Korean, can read peoples minds and goes on air speaking the same language as the aliens do. This naturally goes viral.
Meanwhile in order to find the IT Guy and the weather girl, Mr Colin Firth sits in his chair and does a bit of remote viewing in a kind of Matrix like way. The government agency wants to do whatever it takes to not disclose this information. There is alot of close calls , shooty shooty bang bang, car chases , hanging off trains, in between the weather girl and the IT guy finally meeting up which was quite entertaining.
Now in most films the actually aliens are never seen. Well not much of. In Signs by Mel Gibson we saw one running past a house and the entire film is based on this. In War of The Worlds we see their machines. We did not see much in Independence Day either bar the punch in the face given by Will Smith to one. But they did show one in this film. At the end obviously.
I was disappointed a bit by the ending although the monologue of the Disclosure was quite detailed and I think it would be very similar to what would happen. But hold on, a living alien gets bought into the news studio and says one word
LISTEN
and then the film ends. It leaves you thinking like it is meant to do. But I wish he would say a few more worlds. Many people were highly disappointed with this film expecting another masterpiece from Spielbergo. It wasn't and the rotten tomato ratings agree with this scoring it mid 60's. Other people reckon its setting the world up for an actual real disclosure. Wouldn't that be tasty. Anyway I give this film a 77 because it's better than a 75% and not the best film I've ever watch but it's a decent watch.
Rating: 77/100

I didn't know Bono's daughter was doing a bit of acting. I know that his son has a band which is very very good. This movie looked like it was going to be more talk than action to me, which isn't really a bad thing, just not what you expect when a movie is about aliens. I haven't watched it, but the premise was interesting to me.
Yeah little Eve is an excellent actress. Youself and Missus Bozz should watch a show called "Bad Sisters". It's on Apple or Prime. Shes in it. It's excellent.
I'll have to check it out. If it is sci/fi or fantasy though it will be a no go for @mrsbozz.
No no . It’s a good old murder mystery
