The New Season of the Hunted Starts on Channel 4 This Week

Ah if there was ever a guilty pleasure the Hunted sure is it. It is a pretty good idea for a reality TV show. 12 normal people sign up to go on the run as a fugitive and if they last the month without being caught then they get to win £250,000. The Hunters are ex MI5 agents who set up a headquarters in London and spend the month tracking down the 12 contestants using every means necessary.

The first few hours is vital as the fugitives all begin at the same location and then they run to where ever their plan takes them. The Hunters have a helicopter to keep tabs on where the fugitives are going. Some change clothes under a bridge to evade the Hunters. Others have friends that pick them up. Some stay in the city or town and bunker down. The first few hours are huge. The hunted have access to the grid and every CCTV device in Britain so the fugitives have to avoid CCTV locations in order to disappear. Most travel to the countryside and camp out for a month. Others stay with friends but there is a massive risk here as the Hunters dig deep into the fugitives history and social networks in order to find people who can house them during their time running.

Don't forget as well that the fugitives have a camera man following them around so they stick out like a sore thumb. The Hunters actually give rewards of a few hundred pound out to anyone with information so the fugitives have to be careful who they trust. There has been episodes where the local hostel owner would give them up for a few hundred pound in the pocket which is probably why some of the fugitives just camp in the countryside.

Last nights episode a dentist and his mother were on the run and they decided to contact a friend to bunker there for the night. The Hunters had the friends phone already on their grid and they could see that the friend received a call from a burner phone so off they went and nearly captured the couple. Luckily the fugitives had changed location just before the Hunters went in but they are now hot on their trail.

I love when the month drags on and the fugitives start getting majorly paranoid around the people around them as they draw closer to the prize. They also get a bit sloppy or run out of cash. As soon as they go to an ATM, the Hunters have them so they swoop to the location within the hour anywhere in the UK and go from there.
You may think it is easy to hide from these guys but they know everything about you and even what underwear you are wearing nearly. Any fugitive with a young family will always break after a couple of weeks and will run back and see his family. One fugitive who had navy seal training was found in the field out the back of his house. Some fugitives get cocky and leave messages for the Hunters who take it personally and make it their business to catch the fugitive. There has been reports in some series that the Hunters were a bit heavy handed when hey captured a fugitive but I am not sure how true this is.

I know you guys are from all corners of the Earth but say you were in this situation in a TV show. Where would you go?? Don't forget they have eyes on all your family and friends and CCTV, Vehicle recognition, the works. The UK has one of the most sophisticated CCTV networks in the world so most streets in all the major cities are covered by CCTV. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Germany thinks it is a bad thing as they have virtually no CCTV in any of their cities which is a main reason why some terrorists were able to flee. Straight down into the underground.

I love this show as I see the fugitives have a different range of ideas and watching how they cope with being isolated is pretty interesting. Once the 30 days are over, the fugitives learn of a location in which they need to travel to in order to get the prize. If the Hunted learn of this location the game is up and there has been one series where they captured the fugitives running for a speedboat.

This season is very interesting as we have a mother and son for the first time and also two hearing impaired people who will definitely draw attention to themselves.

So where would you hide if there was a crack team looking for you??

@ablaze would be fine in Spideal. He would head off with a tent somewhere with the dog and a few cans.
@captainquack22 would stay at one of his victims patients houses.
@meesterboom would stay at Venn's house in the attic with stroking Shady. 🤣.

I have a place I bring the dog called the Wildies. It's a woods and it would have everything I need for 30 days. I am half way through building a cabin there and I have told noone. All I have to do now is apply for the show and start squirreling away a few cans of Campbells soups every week. The money is as good as mine!!

Haha, Ven's house would do it. Shady would be the deterrent if they came looking!

That sounds like an awesome show. I will need to catch some of it! I can imagine how hard it would be.

Ah it's funny out. It's probably the only time I shout at the tele. DONT BUY ANYTHING ON YOUR CREDIT CARD MARY YOU FUCKING FOOL. THEY WILL BE SWARMING LIKE WASPS AROUND YOUR LOCATION IN A FEW MINUTES. RUNNNN MARY RUNNNN

avatar

Nah you stay with El Jefe, noone would ever ever suspect you'd stay there! Only problem is you wouldn't last 30 minutes there, never mind 30 days!

avatar

That's true. But a good idea nonetheless!!! Maybe I could hide in his garage so I wouldn't have to talk to him!!

avatar

He'd likely sell you out for £200 or a sandwich though eh?

avatar

He would. The cock-knocker would sell me out for a quid!!

avatar

El Jefe would be on the phone to the cops the second Boom gets let loose. Hahah.

Class idea for a show man, I'll have to check this out. Definitely couldn't bring herself, no way she'd last 30 days off grid. I'd definitely opt for going to the middle of nowhere and living Bear Grylls style for the month. I reckon I could do it but would need to do some prep, especially for food. It would be Class to give it a rattle.

right it's settled. we are signing up. Would make for a great few posts. 😃

I would definitely give it a shot and they would be screwed with me and no social media presence. 20 days is not that bad and I reckon it wouldn't be that bad as you could sneak around quite comfortably if you are smart. Cameraman always gives you away though.

Are you not 6 foot 10? Ud stick out like a skre thumb. 🤣🤣🤣

What the heck, the navy seal in his friggin backyard !LOL

Guess he thought it was a possibility to be in the place least suspected.

That would be scary to think of trying to be in the run. Harder nowadays than it used to be

Yeah some of the fugitives are fucking idiots and they go and stay in their own home and are caught straight away.😂
