Movie Franchises Are Bae!!!

One thing I’ve always been a huge fan of is movie franchises. I love it when new installments are being released, and then I usually see it as an opportunity to rewatch the franchise from the beginning and have some fun. It could be movies, and it could be series. Whatever it is, I’ve found that rewatching the entire thing makes me enjoy it all better.

And then, for a franchise that I’m new to, I simply start it from the beginning. I’m not the kind of person who would enjoy a movie that I’m starting from the 3rd or 4th installment. Nah… I would rather watch everything before it all starts, so I can have an idea what exactly I’m getting into.

I remember the period that Pretty Little Liars came out, it was an enjoyable show, and my sisters followed it religiously. However, I didn’t follow it like them. Can’t even remember the reason. I didn’t watch the main show, I didn’t watch the spin-offs either. But then, sometime last year, I stumbled on the reboot of the show, and it looked quite attractive. But to enjoy it, I opted to watch everything right from the start.

This was back when I was in school, and I had a little bit of time. I watched the entire thing, and then went on to watch the reboot, and the storyline made so much sense because of the background that I had. This is the same thing that happened with Alien: Romulus that came out not too long ago. It was because of this particular installment that I watched the entire franchise. And with the way these movies are made, if you don’t follow it that way, there are some little details that you would miss out on without even noticing it, simply because you don’t know.

Maybe some holes that would only be filled if you’ve watched the previous installments. I could go on and on about how these things have made me watch entire franchises. From Fast and Furious, to Godzilla, Scream, and even Game Of Thrones. It’s all been good.

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning was released to cinemas last week, and before I went to watch it, I had to rewatch the previous installments. It took a long time actually, because I had so much to do with regards to work, but it was worth it. Because a number of characters from previous installments were also present in the latest one.

And for upcoming movies, I’m trying to make time to see the previous installments. A new Jurassic Park is coming out this year, and I want to watch the other installments before that. I also want to rewatch Spartacus because Asha is getting his own series very soon. I can go on and on… although if work doesn’t provide me with the time to do all this, I might not be able to round them all up before they’re all released.

But all in all, it’ll definitely be fun. There’s nothing quite like watching movies and understanding some basic comments being made or certain easter eggs being released through the movie. It’s always wholesome and increases the fun. But it’s all good. I’m looking forward to the movies coming out, and I’m sure that it’s going to be just as much fun for me.
