Honest opinion about Across the sea [ESP/ING]

He estado un poco perdida en el área de las reseñas de las películas, porque la verdad la falta de tiempo ha influido un poco en como me entretengo en estos momentos, realmente, la adaptación del libro A través de mi ventana en manos de Netlflix no me gusto y de hecho no tenía ganas de ver la segunda parte, pero, la verdad el fin de semana estaba buscando algo que ver y que fuera relajado por así decirlo, así que por eso, escogí A través del Mar. Aunque sabía que del todo no estaría basado en los libros, ya que el segundo libro se centra en Artemis y Claudia y se llama A través de ti, en cambio netflix decidió darle enfoque en las 3 películas a Ares y Raquel.
A través del Mar, nos trae la continuidad de la historia de amor entre Ares y Raquel, luego de haber pasado un año de relación a distancia, algunos problemas e inluso algunas personas han interferido con el crecimiento de su relación, así que en un período corto de vacaciones deciden estar juntos, enfrentandose a muchas cosas a su alrededor.
I've been a little lost in the area of movie reviews, because the truth is the lack of time has influenced a little in how I entertain myself right now, actually, the adaptation of the book Through My Window in the hands of Netlflix I didn't like it and in fact I didn't feel like watching the second part, but, the truth is the weekend I was looking for something to watch and that was relaxed so to speak, so for that reason, I chose Across the Sea. Although I knew it wouldn't be entirely based on the books, since the second book focuses on Artemis and Claudia and is called Through You, netflix instead decided to give focus in the 3 movies to Ares and Rachel.
Through the Sea, brings us the continuity of the love story between Ares and Raquel, after spending a year of long distance relationship, some problems and even some people have interfered with the growth of their relationship, so in a short vacation period they decide to be together, facing many things around them.
La verdad es que no sé por dónde empezar, ya solté la idea de que era una adaptación de las historias de Ariana Godoy, porque realmente la historia se perdió por completo como en el minuto 40 de la primera película, así que, he decidido mirarla como una saga de películas independiente de películas. Con esa decisión puedo decir, que la trama se presenta nuevamente bastante cliché, sentí que estaba viendo el Stand de los Besos 2, así que me pareció muy muy repetitiva, no presentó nada nuevo, además siento nuevamente que iba una cosa detrás de la otra sin sentido alguno.
En esta ocasión si tenemos más de Artemis y Claudia, a nivel de historia, muy poco, pero al menos presentan algo; algo que tampoco me gusta de la historia es que son cero originales en los problemas que presentan, hubo una parte en la cual si presentan algo nuevo, pero, eso incluye la muerte de un personaje (lo cual no estaba en el libro).
The truth is that I don't know where to start, I already let go of the idea that it was an adaptation of Ariana Godoy's stories, because really the story got completely lost at about minute 40 of the first movie, so, I have decided to look at it as an independent movie saga of movies. With that decision I can say, that the plot is presented again quite cliché, I felt like I was watching the Kissing Stand 2, so I found it very very repetitive, it didn't present anything new, also I feel again that it was going one thing after the other without any sense.
This time we do have more of Artemis and Claudia, at a story level, very little, but at least they present something; something I don't like about the story either is that they are zero original in the problems they present, there was a part in which they do present something new, but, that includes the death of a character (which was not in the book).
Hablando de personajes, una de las cosas que critique en la pimera película, es que la profundidad de los personajes (al menos para los que leímos el libro) nunca llega en la película y en esta entrega lo hacen exactamente igual.. Ares no ha llegado ni a un punto de explicar porque es así, ni siquiera sé si lo harán así en las películas y sé que dije que lo criticaría solo como películas, pero, es difícil sabiendo el potencial que tienen.
Raquel, quizá tiene un poco más de coherencia, pero, literalmente es una pisca, Daniela, su mejor amiga, la siento como un papel de relleno, no cobra importancia... Vera no existe en el libro, pero, en la película tampoco se entiende su rol, la plantan de la nada como un conflicto, es un desastre.
Por su lado, Yoshi,es un personaje medianamente aceptable, pero, que también pudo haber dado mucho más, su final es sin sentido, y siento que muchas veces estuvo dando vueltas sin encontrar sentido. Es que, realmente siento que los personajes de esta película estaban dando vueltas por una historia sin sentido, y eso es increíblemente malo, porque el problema no es que sea un cliché, el verdadero problema, es que es un cliché muy mal presentado.
Speaking of characters, one of the things I criticized in the first movie, is that the depth of the characters (at least for those of us who read the book) never comes through in the movie and in this installment they do it exactly the same way.... Ares hasn't even gotten to a point of explaining why that's the way it is, I don't even know if they will do it that way in the movies and I know I said I would critique it just as movies, but, it's hard knowing the potential they have.
Raquel, maybe she has a little more coherence, but, she is literally a pisca, Daniela, her best friend, I feel her as a filler role, she doesn't gain importance.... Vera does not exist in the book, but, in the movie her role is not understood either, she is planted out of nowhere as a conflict, it's a disaster.
On the other hand, Yoshi is a moderately acceptable character, but he could have given much more, his ending is meaningless, and I feel that many times he was walking around without making sense. I really feel that the characters in this movie were going around in circles for a meaningless story, and that's incredibly bad, because the problem is not that it's a cliché, the real problem is that it's a very poorly presented cliché.
Siento que lo único rescatable de esta película, es la fotografía, nuevamente presenta unos paisajes hermosos y visualmente es linda, pero, que sea lo único que puedo rescatar es un chiste. Realmente Netflix desperdicio la oportunidad de presentar películas realmente interesantes, y siento que para los lectores es tristes habernos emocionado bastante con la producción de estas películas y que al final no sea un producto ni cercano al esperado.
Sinceramente no le recomendaría a nadie, pero a nadie, ver esta película, siento que no hubo ningún tipo de progreso y que sinceramente no vale la pena, la tercera esta confirmada, siento que la vería, ya solo por cerrar un ciclo de cierta forma, pero, realmente no tengo ningún interes por seguir en esta historia que realmente está mal por todos lados, nada salvable.
I feel that the only redeemable thing about this movie is the photography, again it presents beautiful landscapes and visually it is nice, but, that it is the only thing I can rescue is a joke. Netflix really wasted the opportunity to present really interesting movies, and I feel that for the readers it is sad to have been excited enough with the production of these movies and that in the end it is not even close to the expected product.
I honestly would not recommend anyone, but no one, to see this movie, I feel that there was no progress and honestly not worth it, the third one is confirmed, I feel that I would see it, just to close a cycle in a certain way, but, I really have no interest to continue in this story that really is bad on all sides, nothing salvageable.
