Netflix's hit series: Wednesday| Review and opinion [ESP/ING]

Hay algunas series que se vuelven virales y es casi que inevitables verlas, así me ocurrió con Merlina , una serie que estuvo viral por algunas semanas y a la cual sinceramente le tenía pocas expectativas porque personalmente conocía a la familia Addams pero no era muy fan así que no estaba empapada del tema, en esta ocasión simplemente me llamo la atención la serie y decidí verla, así que hoy hablaremos de ella a profundidad y opinaré sobre si realmente es tan buena.
Merlina, nos cuenta la historia de un miembro muy importante de la familia Addams, la cual ha causado bastantes problemas por su excéntrica personalidad, por lo que es enviada a la Acadamia Nevermore, un lugar para personas marginadas, en el cual Merlina descrubre una ola de asesinatos que intentará frenar y además descubrir aquellos secretos de sus padres, quiénes hace 25 años se conocieron en esta escuela.
There are some series that go viral and it is almost inevitable to watch them, so it happened to me with Wednesday, a series that was viral for a few weeks and to which I honestly had few expectations because I personally knew the Addams family but was not a big fan so I was not soaked in the subject, this time I simply called my attention to the series and decided to watch it, so today we will talk about it in depth and I will give my opinion on whether it is really that good.
Wednesday, tells the story of a very important member of the Addams family, which has caused quite a few problems because of her eccentric personality, so she is sent to Nevermore Academy, a place for marginalized people, in which Merlina discovers a wave of murders that she will try to stop and also discover those secrets of her parents, who 25 years ago met in this school.
Esta es una serie que juega con aspectos que suelen gustarme, como el misterio, la fantasía y un poco de comedia; la historia se puede sentir como una mezcla entre un estilo detective y personas sobrenaturales pero es algo que funciona; lo primero que debo decir es que en mi caso al no tener expectativas para la familia Addams me gusta lo que se nos presenta, una adolescente sumamente inteligente, fría y en algunas ocasiones malvadas que incluso compartiendo con personas que suelen romper moldes, logra destacar.
La reseña que estoy haciendo es sin spoilers, pero tengo que decir que el misterio le da el toque a la trama, la hace atrapante e inevitablemente adictiva, por lo menos en mi caso, me he visto los 8 capítulos en una sola noche. De primera instancia, tengo que decir que hay fallos o clichés en la trama, después de todo es una serie que se dirige principalmente al publico adolescente, pero estos clichés no son demasiados y nuevamente es el misterio el que le da un toque diferente haciendo que la historia funcione a la perfección.
Tengo que decir que esta primera temporada facilmente puede ser una introducción a un nuevo universo porque se encarga de mostrarnos una esencia y un camino que posteriormente pueden seguir, tenemos un misterio que parece poder darnos de más y un desenlace que aunque me gustó, siento que pudo haber estado a otro nivel, porque sobretodo en el final de la serie, comienzas a resolver el misterio y debo decir que lo predije completamente, este es un aspecto que para mí, pudo mejorar o el giro pudo ser más brutal.
This is a series that plays with aspects that I usually like, such as mystery, fantasy and a bit of comedy; the story can feel like a mix between a detective style and supernatural people but it is something that works; the first thing I must say is that in my case not having expectations for the Addams family I like what we are presented, an extremely intelligent, cold and sometimes evil teenager who even sharing with people who usually break molds, manages to stand out.
The review I'm doing is without spoilers, but I have to say that the mystery gives the plot the touch, makes it catchy and inevitably addictive, at least in my case, I've seen the 8 chapters in one night. In the first instance, I have to say that there are flaws or clichés in the plot, after all it is a series that is aimed primarily at the teenage audience, but these clichés are not too many and again it is the mystery that gives it a different touch making the story work perfectly.
I have to say that this first season can easily be an introduction to a new universe because it is responsible for showing us an essence and a path that can later follow, we have a mystery that seems to be able to give us more and a denouement that although I liked, I feel that it could have been at another level, because especially in the end of the series, you begin to solve the mystery and I must say that I predicted it completely, this is an aspect that for me, could have improved or the twist could have been more brutal.
Ahora bien, los personajes, dónde inevitablemente todas las miradas siempre estan en Merlina; ella como ya lo mencione resalta por su inteligencia y parece tener una guerra de poderes con el monstruo y asesino, la sientes empecinada en responder a todo y poder triunfar ante él; es una protagonista diferente y que tiene una fuerza impresionante pero en ocasiones te molesta tanto por estas mismas cualidades, se siente todapoderosa o tiene un ego demasiado grande que no la deja ver más allá, mientras como espectador ya sabes lo que pasara y te quedas esperando que aterrice; a pesar de todo, este aspecto me gusta porque le quita un poco esa rigidez de la perfección, aunque siento que pudiera ser más corto para no caer en lo aburrido y repetitivo.
Por otro lado, la familia Addams, se sienten como personajes que aportan un poco, pero el foco no se encuentra en ellos por mucho tiempo, así que a decir verdad pasan bastante desapercibidos. Dedos es un personaje que para mí salvó la serie, no puedo explicar lo carismatico que resultó, fue toda una sorpresa; hubo algunos personajes que no resaltaron demasiado porque las subtramas que intentaron llevar acabo todas quedaron a la mitad, ese es un aspecto que no me gusto tanto.
Tengo que hablar de la puesta en escena, me gustan mucho los escenarios y como estaba todo ambientado, todo lo relacionada a Nevermore me encantó, tiene un estilo muy gotico que va perfecto con la temática de la serie; pero, en este aspecto lo único que no me gusto fueron los efectos especiales, si dejeron mucho que desear, se sentían como efectos de hace algunos años.
Now, the characters, where inevitably all eyes are always on Merlina; she, as already mentioned, stands out for her intelligence and seems to have a war of powers with the monster and murderer, you feel her determined to respond to everything and be able to triumph over him; she is a different protagonist and has an impressive strength but sometimes she bothers you so much for these same qualities, she feels all-powerful or has an ego too big that does not let her see beyond, while as a viewer you already know what will happen and you are waiting for it to land; despite everything, I like this aspect because it takes away a little that rigidity of perfection, although I feel it could be shorter not to fall into the boring and repetitive.
On the other hand, the Addams family, feel like characters that contribute a little, but the focus is not on them for a long time, so to tell the truth they pass quite unnoticed. Fingers is a character that for me saved the series, I can't explain how charismatic he was, he was a surprise; there were some characters that didn't stand out too much because the subplots they tried to carry out were all left in the middle, that's an aspect that I didn't like so much.
I have to talk about the staging, I really like the scenery and how everything was set, I loved everything related to Nevermore, it has a very gothic style that goes perfect with the theme of the series; but, in this aspect the only thing I didn't like were the special effects, they left a lot to be desired, they felt like effects from a few years ago.
Considero que Merlina es una serie con elementos muy buenos que funcionan y la hacen una serie adictiva; no es perfecta, o no puede considerarse como una obra maestra pero es buena y resulta ser demasiado entretenida como para querer una segunda temporada, dónde se lleven las cosas a otro nivel, que se sienta una esencia más oscura y menos un intermedio.
Merlina es una serie que puede gustarle a todo aquel que se interese por el misterio y que quiera entretenerse, sinceramente los aspectos negativos de esta serie están presentes pero se ven opacados en cierto sentido por aquellos que resaltan más, por ello considero que tiene todo para ser un buen exito: misterio, buenos personajes y una buena primera temporada; sinceramente espero que Netflix renueve esta serie porque pueden darnos mucho más.
I consider that Wednesday is a series with very good elements that work and make it an addictive series; it is not perfect, or can not be considered a masterpiece but it is good and it is too entertaining to want a second season, where things are taken to another level, where you feel a darker essence and less of an intermission.
Wednesday is a series that can be liked by anyone who is interested in mystery and wants to be entertained, honestly the negative aspects of this series are present but are overshadowed in a sense by those that stand out more, so I think it has everything to be a good success: mystery, good characters and a good first season; I sincerely hope that Netflix renews this series because they can give us much more.

I watched it thinking I wasn't going to like it, but after watching the first two episodes I couldn't stop and kept watching it until the end. It's a series for teenagers, but it can be enjoyed by the whole family. I liked it a lot and I'm looking forward to the second season.
