Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone [Movie] ESP/ENG
I had the opportunity to read the Harry Potter books a while ago, since my daughters are fans of the saga, but I must confess that I honestly hadn't sat down to diligently watch the movies until yesterday when I saw The Philosopher's Stone 😌.
Hace tiempo tuve la oportunidad de leer los libros de Harry Potter, ya que mis hijas son seguidoras de la saga, pero debo confesarles que honestamente yo no me había sentado a ver diligentemente las películas hasta el día de ayer cuando vi La Piedra Filosofal 😌.
The story begins with Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Hagrid leaving young Harry Potter with his Muggle aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, as they were the only blood relatives he had left. However, years later, we see that the environment in which Harry grew up was very unfair. While his aunt and uncle, Vernon and Petunia, treated their son with deference, Harry was treated like a servant. But all this changes when Harry turns eleven and receives his Hogwarts letter, despite Vernon's attempts to prevent him from receiving it. Harry also receives a visit from Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, who makes an extraordinary revelation: he tells him that he is a wizard and that his parents didn't die in a car accident, but at the hands of a dark wizard named Lord Voldemort. And once at Hogwarts, Harry makes friends and experiences unimaginable adventures.
La historia comienza con el profesor Dumbledore, la Profesora McGonagall y Hagrid dejando al pequeño Harry Potter en casa de sus tíos muggles, los Dursley, ya que ellos eran la única familia de sangre que le quedaba al pequeño, sin embargo años más tarde vemos que el ambiente en el que Harry creció fue muy injusto, pues mientras sus tíos Vernon y Petunia trataban con deferencia a su hijo, a Harry lo trataban como a un criado, pero todo esto cambia cuando Harry cumple once años y recibe su carta de Hogwarts, a pesar de los intentos de Vernon por evitar que él la recibiera. Harry recibe además la visita de Hagrid, el guardabosques del colegio Hogwarts quien le hace una extraordinaria revelación, le dice que es un mago y que sus padres no murieron en un accidente de tránsito, sino a manos de un mago tenebroso llamado Lord Voldemort. Y una vez en el colegio Harry hace amigos y vive aventuras inimaginables.
I really liked the children's acting; it was very authentic and fluid, it looked natural, and I couldn't help but be touched, especially by Ronald Weasley. The same thing happened with Draco Malfoy; the gestures on his face and the way he emphasized his words showed the contempt he felt for Harry and his friends.
Me gustó mucho la actuación de los niños, era muy auténtica y fluida, se veía de forma natural y me resultaba imposible no enternecerme, especialmente con Ronald Weasley, y lo mismo sucedió con Draco Malfoy, los gestos de su carita y la manera en que enfatizaba las palabras denotaban el desprecio que sentía hacia Harry y sus amigos.
As for the adult actors, I'm not surprised by the quality of their work, since the film boasted an excellent cast, including Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, and Alan Rickman. Regarding Rickman, I'd like to point out that although he was much older than his character, he at least more closely resembled the book's description—pale skin, long hair. I mention this because it contrasts sharply with the portrayal of the character in the new series. But anyway, beyond all that, Rickman brought a profound depth to his performance, and that's because he was the only actor who understood the direction his complex character was heading.
En cuanto a los actores adultos, no me sorprende la calidad de su trabajo, ya que la película contó con un elenco excelente en el cual destacan Richard Harris, Maggie Smith y Alan Rickman, en cuanto a este último me gustaría resaltar que a pesar de que el actor era mucho mayor que su personaje, al menos se parecía más a lo que describe el libro, osea piel pálida, cabello largo, lo digo porque esto contrasta demasiado con la opción que eligieron para interpretar a este personaje en la nueva serie. Pero en fin, más allá de todo eso, Rickman le dio un matiz muy profundo a su interpretación, y es porque era el único actor que conocía la dirección hacia donde se dirigía su personaje tan complejo.
Obviously, the story isn't complete; many important elements from the book are missing, such as the duel between Malfoy and Harry, which ultimately didn't take place but allowed them to find the door where the dog guarding the entrance to the Philosopher's Stone was kept. Iconic characters like Peeves are also missing, but I can understand that fitting all of that into a single film is impossible. However, the story is very well told, and the plot is easy to understand.
Obviamente la historia no está completa, faltaron muchos elementos importantes de libro, escenas como el duelo entre Malfoy y Harry, que finalmente no se llevó a cabo pero permitió que encontraran la puerta donde estaba el perro que custodiaba la entrada al lugar donde guardaban la piedra filosofal, también faltaron personajes icónicos como Peeves, pero puedo entender que meter todo eso en una sola película es imposible, sin embargo la historia está muy bien contada, la trama se entiende.
As for the pace, it can be said that it starts well but at some point it became a little slow, even almost dense, but from the moment the three children begin to look for information about Nicholas Flamel, the film becomes more interesting.
En cuanto al ritmo se puede decir que empieza bien pero en algún punto se volvió un poco lento, incluso casi denso, pero desde el momento en el que los tres niños comienzan a buscar información sobre Nicholas Flamel, la película se vuelve más interesante.
Las escenas de quidditch son muy emocionantes y de verdad captaron el espíritu deportivo y competitivo que la autora le imprimió en las novelas, incluso con la presencia de Lee Jordan, el comentarista, aunque me hubiese gustado ver las típicas discusiones entre él y la profesora McGonagall que eran más graciosas en el libro.
The scenes alluding to Voldemort create a lot of unease amidst the darkness, the music, and the tension of the dialogues, thus preparing us for Harry's later encounter with him.
Las escenas donde se hace alusión a Voldemort generan mucha inquietud entre la oscuridad, la música y la tensión de los diálogos, así que esto nos prepara para ese encuentro que más adelante tiene Harry con él.
I really enjoyed watching it. I'd only seen a few scenes before, but now that I've seen it from beginning to end, I have a better understanding, and I can say that overall, I loved it.
