Greetings cinephile friends! Today I come to share a movie that I was able to enjoy over the weekend and that I think it's worth reviewing, it is
99 casas from 2014.
This film shows us the difficult predicament that people must go through when they default on their mortgages and the bank seizes the properties, which makes the police to evict entire families regardless of age, conditions of families, even without caring if those people have nowhere to go.

Starring Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon under the direction of Ramin Bahrani, we are shown both sides of the plight of eviction.
The story was written by Ramin Bahrani himself along with Amir Naderi, who drew on real events to dramatize a social problem that strikes the average family in contemporary times.
Being on the side of the evicted, like Dennis Nash (Andrew Garfield) and being able to get what you need out of your house in 10 minutes while the police officers are pressuring you and the bank agent tells you that you are trespassing, I think this is the nightmare that all parents have.
On the other hand, being the executioner as Rick Carver (Michael Shannon) a businessman who represents the bank and the real estate company that takes possession of the houses, shows us how he transforms into a cold and stone-hearted man mowed down by ambition.

With a 6.5/10, Filmaffinity rates this 112-minute film. The suspense of the scenes is highlighted by the soundtrack that was in charge of Antony Partos, I can say that it makes the situation feel tense and we can feel the misfortune of the evicted people.
Personally, watching this film based on real events, made me feel empathy with the characters who are even involved in the shady maneuvers of the real estate business, which uses bureaucratic details, often false, in order to seize the properties.
The fact of feeling that this can happen to all of us, losing the roof over our heads and the security of our families, seeing our furniture and belongings on the side of the street because of a late payment, is a terrible nightmare that people all over the world face every day. The movie made me think about my finances and my future investments, which is something I like in a film and that is why I consider it a good movie.

Con un 6.5/10, Filmaffinity califica este filme de 112 minutos. El suspenso de las escenas lo resalta la banda sonora que estuvo a cargo de Antony Partos, puedo decir que hace que la situación se sienta tensa y que podamos sentir la desgracia de las personas desalojadas.
En lo personal, ver este filme basado en hechos reales, me hizo sentir empatía con los personajes que se ven incluso envueltos en las maniobras turbias de los negocios de las inmobiliarias, que se valen de los detalles burocráticos, muchas veces falsos, para poder apoderarse de las propiedades.
El hecho de sentir que esto nos puede pasar a todos, perder el techo y la seguridad de nuestras familias, vernos con nuestros muebles y pertenencias a un lado de la calle por un atrasa en un pago, es una terrible pesadilla que enfrentan día a día personas en todo el mundo. La película me hizo reflexionar sobre mis finanzas y mis inversiones futuras, cosa que me gusta de un filme y es por eso que lo considero como buena película.
