How to Train Your Dragon(2025)
Hey guys, I just finished watching the 2025 version of How to Train Your Dragon, and honestly, it was worth every minute.
I can confess that i was taken back to the world of dragons and Vikings by this movie ,but it was also fresh in a good way.

The story line is centered on a boy named Hiccup. He lives in a village called Berk where people have always seen dragons as enemies. their homes were used to be attacked by dragons, not only that , they steal animals, so for many years, Vikings were trained to kill them. But Hiccup is different. He’s not strong or tough like the other boys. He’s skinny, quiet, and prefers to invent things instead of fighting.

Hiccup wants to make his father proud, especially because his dad is the chief of the village. One night, he uses one of his inventions to shoot down a dragon—the most feared one, the Night Fury.
Something strange happens when he found the dragon injured in the forest, something strange happens. He can’t bring himself to kill it. He does what is contradictory , he lets it go. everything was changed by that small decision.

He starts visiting the dragon secretly and slowly earns its trust. He names it Toothless. I liked how their friendship grew slowly, step by step. Hiccup even builds a new tail fin to help Toothless fly again, since the old one was damaged. That part really showed how kind and smart Hiccup is.
At the same time, Hiccup joins dragon training with the other kids, including a tough girl named Astrid. While the others use strength, Hiccup uses what he learned from Toothless. He finds out that dragons aren’t as scary as everyone thinks—they’re just misunderstood.
Some little things he learns , for example , he learnt that they don't like eels, and also how they can be calmed down with just a gentle touch.

Astrid becomes suspicious and follows him one day. She finds out about Toothless. At first, she’s angry, but after flying with the dragon, she changes her mind too. they end up discovering that dragons are attacking villages because they’re being forced to by a giant dragon queen.
so you see , they are are just trying to survive.
Later, Hiccup is chosen to kill a dragon in front of the village as part of his final test. He disobeys this test, but , he tries to explain that dragons aren’t the real enemy. His father doesn’t listen and gets angry. Toothless is captured and leads the warriors to destroy the dragon nest. But it doesn’t go as planned. The giant dragon queen attacks, and it’s up to Hiccup, Toothless, and his friends to save the day.
The battle scene was intense. In the end, Hiccup and Toothless defeat the dragon queen, but Hiccup gets badly hurt. He wakes up to find he lost a leg, but he’s alive—and Toothless never left his side. That part really touched me.
The movie ends with the village finally accepting dragons. They now live together in peace. Hiccup, the boy everyone once laughed at, becomes a hero by doing something different—he chose kindness over fighting.
I really enjoyed this movie. It had action, heart, and a strong message. Just because something has always been done a certain way doesn’t mean it’s the best way. This movie shows that change is possible if we try to understand instead of fight.
I’d give it a 7 out of 10. It’s a great movie for both kids and adults. If you haven’t seen it yet, I think you should.

Yeah I was taken aback when I saw the release of the movie. Made a mental note to go watch it. People say it’s not far off from the animation and I hope so, I hate storylines and additions that lead to disappointment
Oh I think this should be among my next movies am watching
