[Movie] Ne Zha 2(A Journey Beyond Fate)

Ne Zha 2 was a Chinese animated fantasy film that continued the story of Ne Zha, the rebellious young deity who had previously challenged the destiny assigned to him. Directed by Jincan Shen, the film combined breathtaking animation, mythology, action and emotional storytelling to explore one powerful question:
Was a person truly defined by destiny, or could they choose who they became?🤔

The story followed Ne Zha, having already struggled with the consequences of being born with immense destructive power, and constantly being misunderstood and discriminated, he found himself fighting against forces that wanted to control his fate.
But Ne Zha being stubborn and determined, never gave up fighting to change the destiny already written for him.

The movie, took me to a world filled with gods, demons, magical creatures and ancient powers🥰.

Despite Ne Zha wasn't portrayed as a perfect hero because he was rebellious, impulsive and sometimes destructive, but beneath his difficult personality, he was kind hearted, playful, he was just a young character who desperately wanted to be understood, and treated like every normal child.

I so much love the relationship between Ne Zha and his parents. Despite how destructive Ne Zha was, they still loved him wholeheartedly. Even when everyone hated him and wanted him dead, they were willing to protect him with their lives.

I also think Ne Zha was later able to change his fate because he was brought up with so much love, gentleness and care. If he had grown up surrounded by rejection, hatred and fear, he might have just accepted his fate and become very destructive.

His parents gave him a sense of belonging. Even when he was being difficult to handle, they were still patient with him and they never stopped seeing him as their child. Their love did not mean they approved of everything he did, it meant they did not abandon him because of his mistakes.

Another character I loved was Ao Bing. He was Ne Zha's best friend. The two being completely opposites, Ne Zha was reckless and rebellious, Ao Bing, was calmer and peaceful. People feared Ne Zha because he possessed a very destructive power, Ao Bing was respected and admired by many because he was powerful. Despite their differences, they both were both trapped by expectations. They were trying to become themselves rather than simply becoming what others expected of them.

The movie was so captivating. It was filled with beautiful colours, detailed characters, magical creatures and impressive scenery. The action scenes were top-notch.

The humour in the movie also made the movie to be less serious. Ne Zha's mischievous and rebellious personality provided many amusing moments.

In the end of the movie, everything Ne Zha and his friend had endured, the sacrifices, the struggle against fate, every single thing, was worth it in the end😊. It leaves the audience with a mixture of emotions and excitement.

Ne Zha's journey showed that people are often discriminated against and judged unfairly because of their appearance, background and circumstances. Everyone deserves a chance to be seen, understood and loved. The film questions whether a person should be condemned for something they had never chosen and my answer is "NO"
