[Movie] THE LAST SUNRISE
Hello everyone it's your girl @chisom13❤️
The movie “ The Last Sunrise” is a 2026 American romantic drama.

It’s about a beautiful young dancer, Oriah “Ry” Pera, who had tuberous sclerosis, a condition that causes her to suffer from seizures and she unexpectedly found love with a local fisherman during her summer vacation in Mallorca.

Even though she knew she was critically ill and the chances of her surviving was slim, she was still optimistic about life, she just wanted to experience happiness, love, and live life to the fullest.

Determined to make the most of her summer, Ry stopped taking her medication because it made her feel numb and made close friends on the island, including the handsome Julian. As the two fell deeply in-love, Ry learnt that their lives were intertwined in more ways than one, and she started evaluating what she truly wants out of life. Julian gave Ry something to live for.

Even when she was offered a solution, that is surgery and she might lose her memories after it. She didn’t agree to the surgery.
She made up her mind to accept whatever might happen, knowing that she had experienced what it meant to love and be loved and what it meant to have friends who love you. To Ry, she would rather die remembering the people she loved than live like she never met them. She never wanted to live without those beautiful memories that made life worth living.

When she eventually suffered another serious episode of seizure, she was rushed to the hospital. Ry woke up in the hospital and learnt that her Tuberous Sclerosis (TSC) had gotten unmanageable. She sneaked out of the hospital, just to meet her lover, Julian, at the beach and tell him about her condition. Ry claimed that she does not want to get surgery for fear of losing her memories.

After she passed out at the beach, she was rushed back to the hospital, and the doctors told her mum that her condition has become very critical and they needed to perform surgery immediately. Her mom was a little hesitant because she promised Ry that she won’t consent to the surgery because Ry didn’t want to let go of beautiful memories but she later gave her consent to save her daughter’s life and the surgery was performed.

I was honestly so scared watching this part because I kept thinking, “what if she doesn’t survive, what if she survives but loses her memory?.”
But thankfully, it didn’t end tragically. She survived 🥰. She didn’t automatically recover her memories, but it came one after the other. This part of the movie made me hopeful that one day, she will eventually recover her memories and I was happy that life gave her another chance to make more beautiful memories.
Ry and Julian is a reminder that having a chronic illness shouldn’t hinder you from experiencing love, living your life to the fullest and making friends with people that eventually become family.
I loved the movie because Ry was determined to live happily despite uncertainty. I honestly thought it won’t end well but it turned out to be a beautiful movie.
The movie also reminded me of how we take ordinary things for granted. Waking up and living life without worrying about whether it could be your last.
