My favorite movie

Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #indiaunited community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt: what is your favourite movie?

In a way I find this week's prompt a little bit hard because for someone like me who has seen countless movies, both foreign and local, it is not simple to pick out one from the numerous movies I have seen, and each time I sit and see a movie, I must get a movie that I will fall in love with, a movie I will be glad to watch over and over again without regret.

There are some movies that wow me and marvel me with their level of creativity, and whenever I come across such a movie, I give it up to the scriptwriters and all the production crew.

I am not really a fan of Nigerian movies, but these few days I am so amazed by how much Nigerian movies have upgraded. I will be talking about the most recent movie I saw, titled The Herd. I will not lie; this movie swept me off my feet, from the setting to the production and the actors and actresses. It was really top-notch.

The Herd is a movie that tells of the insecurity in Nigeria and how the herdsmen kidnap and kill people. They go as far as going to schools and churches at gunpoint and slaughter people and sell them part by part. I will not lie. I love how sincere the script is, and everything about the movie feels so real.

The herds tell a true life story of what it means to be kidnapped by herdsmen and what the experience is in the hands of the herdsmen. The movie is centred on survival, sacrifice and love; every choice that you make has a cost that you will pay.

Derin and Kofi were a couple heading to their wedding venue. Gosi was there with the driver, and they were attacked by herdsmen. As Kofi was about to run, he was shot on the spot. That was how she and Gosi were held captive by the herdsmen. At first, Derin was asked to decimate her dead husband but couldn’t. Gosi was forced to decimate his best friend’s body, which he did out of fear. Derin blames Gosi for the death of his late husband. One of the herdsmen in the movie was wicked; he wanted to kill them all, but the others kept telling him to calm down so that the victim's family could buy ransom.

Adamma Gosi's wife sacrifices a lot to make sure she gets the ransom. If our policemen are like the ones in the movie, we are safe in this country because those policemen are so ready to lay down their lives to make sure that the rescue is kidnapped by herdsmen.

This movie tells a lot about the hidden things in our country we don’t know. When it comes to herdsmen, they have people who feed them with information and updates.

If you have not seen this movie, The Herd, I recommend this movie for you to watch, and thank me later because this movie speaks volumes of the insecurity in my country. My people will always say there is no smoke without fire.

This is my entry on the weekly prompts #indiaunited topic: what is your favourite movie?
