Dear CineTV Community,

Hey there, CineTV community! It's just a regular week where we don't have any fancy community news to share with you, but fear not! A trip down memory lane, the time that brought us neon colors, big hair and countless timeless classics. Put on your leg warmers and dive back into the world of 80s cinema!

The submission deadline is 7th March, 2023, 11:59 PM, UTC time.

This week's latest CineKids has an interesting approach. As evidenced over the last few decades, movie studios have found a way to market their films to young audiences: Free plastic toys. By partnering with fast food chains and other retailers, these studios offer children free plastic toys related to their latest movie. Marketing at its best! But is this tactic ethical? And does it really work? In this edition of CineKids, @thisismylife looks at the pros and cons of using free plastic toys to market movies to kids.

Of course you can also find some new background stories for the many writing prompts. So if you're still in need of some extra blog-struggling-day inspiration, don't worry! CineTV has got you covered!

Have you ever wondered what is considered "cool" by the younger generation? Well here have something for you. You don't have to look any further because in "Frey's Findings" you can find everything. From the latest trends and hot topics among the youth, to the latest celebrity gossip. Everything that concerns the youth and what is considered "cool" is presented to you in a flashy writing style. Dive into the rapidly changing cultural youth landscape.

If you're ready for a little break now, grab a cup of coffee and go into the relax mode. Enjoy even more of that juicy Hollywood gossip.

  • We have sad news to share again. Tom Sizemore, the American actor best known to many fans for his role in "Saving Private Ryan", has died at the age of 61. Tom was hospitalized in mid-February after a brain aneurysm. There he died in his sleep. What remains for us now are the memories of his long and varied career in Hollywood. We better forget that he also struggled with addiction and legal problems all his life. Unfortunately, his return to the acting he was so passionate about was short-lived. He had recently been working on a new project and was very excited about it. Immediately after the announcement of his death, a shower of condolences and memories from his colleagues and fans started. R.I.P Tom!

  • The latest news in the English Royal family will have come as a shock to Harry and Meghan. For Harry and Meghan, having to leave their royal wedding present, the cottage "Frogmore". That Charles wants to give Andrew the keys to the house is also another thing. For Andrew it also feels like a downgrading, he has to move from a 30 room house to a 10 room house. It looks like Charles isn't making his younger brother or youngest son very happy at the moment.

  • Victoria Beckham has quelled rumors of a feud with her son Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, by sharing a photo of the two of them together in Victoria's kitchen on Instagram. Victoria did this in honor of Nicola's 28th birthday, but it couldn't have come at a better time. If we are to believe the gossip, the two women would have a feud over the wedding dress Nicola wore. When we see Victoria's message to her daughter-in-law now, you can be in two minds. Either there is no feud, and it's just gossip, or Victoria is giving away a beautiful piece of SHOWbiz with this message.

So who is going to win some juicy CINE this week? There were many good comments, and since this is not a contest, but a challenge everybody wins! We had only 100 CINE and 100 Ecency Points to give away. Sorry guys, the treats are getting smaller as more people participate! Usually our own team members are excluded, but since @papacrusher had the most exceptional comment from all, I definitely wanted to include him in the rewards this week. (And I am the one who decides who won anyways, lol!) I really love all your comments!

And that means I can tell you that @saffisara, @melinda010100, @nbarrios67 AND @papacrusher all get 25 CINE and 25 Ecency Points sent to their wallets. Congratulations, and thank you all for the comments. It's always nice to see engagement on the newspaper.

For next week this sets our balance to 100 CINE and 100 Ecency Points to give away!

Of coure, thanks to @ecency for generously sponsoring this fun challenge!

Are you all ready for the new challenge this week?

This week seemed like the right week to change the "Movie Star of the Week" concept. There is still a "Movie Star", well, sort of. But with a different approach. This week I want to see if I can expect more personal reactions from you when I give you a TV series or movie to discuss. Giving the story of the series or movie is not necessary. I've seen it. LOL. What I'm curious about is your opinion. Did you like it, or not at all? And why did you like it or not. What would you have done differently? Any comment is appreciated!

This week I wanted to start with a television series set during World War II. The series is based on the book. And the book is based on the true story of a group of American soldiers. The series follows their adventures and hardships during the war. From their training in the United States to the liberation of Europe.

Did you already guess which series it is? Inspired by the follow-up "Masters of the Air" which is expected this spring on AppleTV, I thought we could have some talks about,

Band of Brothers

We have the tokens to give away, do you have a comment? The conditions are being looked at more strictly. And if the conditions are not met, we will not give away additional tokens.

Rules:

  • Only personal opinions, no plot stories , and since this is meant for more engagement on the newspaper, you're only in the race to earn some extra CINE when you leave a comment.

If you want to write a blog, that's great! But there won't be extra CINE tokens for blogs anymore.

The challenge is intended to give you an ENGAGEMENT option for the newspaper. The fact that we are giving away tokens to engage with us is an extra bonus for you. You guys are "THE COMMUNITY", and we would be nothing without you!

We keep watching for all the films that come out this year, after all, that is what the CINETV community is for. I will try to show as many different genres as possible. Hopefully there's something to your taste and you'll find a new movie for your "To Watch" list. Get ready for some trailers below!

CREED III

Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan, who once ruled the boxing world, has made it big both in his professional and personal life. However, things are about to take an unexpected turn when Damian, played by Jonathan Majors, reappears. Damian is a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, and he is determined to prove himself in the ring. Their imminent clash is not just any fight, but an important confrontation between two former comrades. Adonis will have to risk everything in a decisive battle against Damian.

OPERATION FORTUNE

Jason Statham is back on the silver screen as Orson Fortune, a highly skilled spy on a mission to stop the distribution of deadly advanced weaponry by a wealthy arms dealer played by Hugh Grant. Though paired with elite agents from different parts of the world, Fortune reluctantly agrees to work with them. To achieve their goal and protect humanity, Fortune and his team embark on a global sting operation and enlist the help of a prominent Hollywood actor.

FINDING MICHAEL

For the lovers of a good documentary, here we have one about one of the most extensive search and rescue operations ever conducted

We like to point out the following note about plagiarism!

We have an entire team dedicated to finding AND reporting plagiarism and abuse. And be warned, we NEVER will tolerate plagiarized blogs. Not in plagiarized words, nor images!

We have seen some really great posts that failed to source their pictures, and so we were not able to curate them properly. Remember to only post YOUR OWN words and to properly source the photos that you use that are not your own.

Plagiarism is THEFT and has no place in our CineTV family!

Don't forget that you can subscribe to this newspaper by simply letting us know in a comment. If you want to cancel the subscription, you can do so in the same simple way.

Band of Brothers is a great miniseries. But you know that. I have an uncle (passed away now) who was in the 101st Airborne Divison during WW2. He never talked about combat, only post-war activities while in Germany.

Major Winters used to run a podcast in the last few years of his life. I listened to a couple of them at the time. I never got into podcasts, however it was interesting to hear what he had to say, mainly poilitics, if I recall correctly.

Neal McDonough, who played Buck Compton is a fine, but underutilized actor. He played Dum-Dum Dugan in Captain America and again in Agent Carter.
