CineTV COMMUNITY NEWSPAPER | #43

Image created with CANVA PRO

Welcome to this week's new CineTV Community Newspaper.

Another week has passed. The days all seem the same, with a slight difference. It gets dark earlier and earlier in the evening, the sun rises a few minutes later every morning and the temperatures drop a little further each week. Winter is near!

What this does to me is that I like to turn off my PC a little earlier in the evening to crawl on the couch. Where I watch a movie while enjoying a hot cup of tea or a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream. A blanket over me and a dog to keep my feet warm...

Winter is no longer my favorite season when you look at it in terms of weather and activities. Although I have to admit that I still walk the dogs just as much as in the summer. That makes no difference. The difference lies in the search within activities. Where in the summer I am happy with the long days and pleasant temperatures so that I can be outside in the garden, in the winter I have to settle for staying indoors. The stove must be lit to keep it somewhat comfortable. But the big plus is of course that we have more time to watch movies, and that there are blankets to give that extra cozy feeling.

CINETV COMMUNITY UPDATE

It's December folks! I think we all deserve a break from the hard work all year round, right? That means that you can't expect any special community news in this last month of the year. We doubted for a while whether we could make a smashing year-end with the new Cine Frontend. But as it stands, there's more chance we'll start the new year with a bang.

So let's continue with the #writingprompts. You know you can find those on our TWITTER account, right? To find an interesting writing prompt to your liking, I would strongly recommend you to scroll through our Twitter account. You can use any writing prompt at any time, and of course this also gives an extra chance for curation.

And even though we very much like you to go over to our Twitter, we have a weekly post with some of our writingprompts. It's there for you to read how the writing prompts came about, but of course you can also use this blog for inspiration if you get stuck looking for a topic to blog about!

Let's move on to our Contest!

CINE CONTEST UPDATE

Well, to be perfectly honest, this week's contest theme is one that will probably make your brain work overtime. There is so much to tell about Tom Hanks. He has acted in so many movies. He has a career that no one can miss ... But how are you going to choose your favorite movie with Tom Hanks? While there are so many good movies to choose from…Tricky. Especially if your entry must also stand out among all those other entries, which may describe the same film. A tough challenge this week!

Of course you already get it! If you hadn't seen it already, this week's contest is that we are looking for: Your favorite Tom Hanks movie

Let your storytelling talent come to life, summon all the witches and convince us with eerily good emotions. If you already submitted your entry, GREAT! If you still have to write it, the submission deadline is The submission deadline is 6th December, 2022, 11:59 PM, UTC time.

As you know by now, We love to read your personal stories, not only blogs written for the contest. Why is that one movie or series so special to you? What impact has it had on you? Did a movie or series change your mind about certain things? Just to name a few examples.

Our Movie Star of the Week is the next part of the newspaper. The Movie Star of the week challenge is a challenge that is NOT intended to become a second wikipedia or IMBD. It is NOT meant to take info from the internet and reiterate this info in your own words in a blog.

This challenge is meant to let your personal opinion be heard.

If no blog or comment meets these conditions, then we will not distribute CINE tokens. We take the 100 CINE that would have been there for that week to the next week, and eventually the person who writes the comment, or the blog that does meet the conditions, has a chance to win a lot more CINE at once. But again, only comments or blogs that meet the condition have a chance.

And again, the only condition is that it is your own opinion. No biography about the actor or actress. No filmography of the actor or actress. No! We want to read your opinion.

So let's quickly take a look at what ya'll thought about Juliette Lewis.

We had exactly ZERO entries this week.

So this means that next week we have 365 Cine tokens and 90 Ecency Points to distribute. Join in I would say. It doesn't have to cost you much. No research or anything. All we want to see is your personal idea, feeling or memories. A comment or blog, the choice is yours!

Special shoutout here to @melinda010100 and @ecency. Because of their generosity we can start giving away Ecencypoints for the Movie Star Of The Week Challenge.

If you don't know Ecency yet, or you have no clue what you can do with the Ecencypoints you can win, feel free to read the FAQ.

So let's move on to this weeks Movie STAR of the Week!

This week an actor / musician that I think everyone knows something about. If only because he's been in the news a lot this past year, and not always because he's a fantastic actor. And let me put that first, without any doubt I dare to call this man a brilliant actor.

In many films he plays a special character. Could this indicate that he has trouble with his own personality? Could this be a sign that this man has multiple personalities? Or is it just a desire of this actor to show all his special acting talents?

Who isn't endeared by Edward Scissorhands? Or once raised his/her eyebrows at the obvious "crazy" personality Willie Wonka displayed. And who hasn't enjoyed the many adventures that Captain Jack Sparrow has experienced?

After naming these movie characters, the new Movie Star of the Week is no surprise to anyone, right? Of course we are now talking about:

JOHNNY DEPP

Source WIKIPEDIA

So you now know what to do. Leave a comment under this newspaper, or write a blog if you prefer. But as said, I'm not looking for biographies or filmographies. It's all on the internet.

What you have to do if you want to earn CINE tokens, is write a comment or blog with YOUR opinion. Why do you like Johnny Depp or not. What appeals to you in him, or what repels you? Does he make you forget the world, do you see the person he plays or do you still see Johnny?

So we have 365 CINE tokens to give away next week. Do your best!

Please keep in mind that we're not going to give out the CINE tokens if your comment or blog has nothing personal.

If you're going to dedicate a blog towards our "Movie STAR of the week", don't forget to use the tag #moviestaroftheweek and link your blog here in a comments so we can easily find it!

As always, feel free to browse over all blogs written under the #cinetv tag. There are so many awesome blogs. We appreciate each and everone of you, who takes the effort to write up a unique, original blog with movie or tv-related content.

VIOLENT NIGHT

It's December, of course that's the time to cozy up under warm blankets on the couch and enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights in the Christmas tree. To experience some romance with your partner while enjoying the sounds of Silent Night. A classic that everyone knows.

Okay, I'll stop describing the classic Christmas because the movie I'm sharing first today isn't that classic at all. In this Christmas there is no Romance shared. The night is not silent but violent. If you have had it with the classic romantic Christmas movies, this movie can be recommended for you. It's hard work as Santa when the world is turned upside down and crime threatens to run rampant during Christmas.

I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY

Who doesn't remember Whitney Houston? Her voice brought her fame and fortune. But behind that phenomenal voice was a person. Get to know the person, Whitney, behind the voice in this movie.

DIVORCE BAIT

In this movie you become aware of how powerful a small message on Social Media can be nowadays. How badly it can turn your life upside down and how concerned people really are with each other, or should you say, who is ready to pick up the shards of your happiness? A comedy that clearly shows the power of Social Media.

MOVIE & CELEBRITY GOSSIPS

One of my favorite parts of the weekly newspaper. The juicy gossip! I can't help it, I think it's one of the "guilty pleasures", which I will never admit after today. Because like everyone else, I always pretend that I'm not interested in that at all.

  • Nick Cannon shows that making babies can be tiring and can have an impact on your health. He is awaiting baby number 13, (it's also an unlucky number). But he gets to wait for this baby while he himself has been hospitalized with pneumonia. Should we be concerned now, would 13 babies soon have no father? Hopefully he will recover soon and get to know baby number 13 as well. But, if it's up to me I would also hope that not even more women are crazy enough to continue to serve as incubators.

  • Britney has her life back. She is no longer controlled by her father. She is happily married to her Sam, and life SEEMS to be smiling on her again. But Britney wouldn't be Britney if she didn't share her life with all its ups and downs on Social Media.

This week Britney got to blow out 41 candles on her birthday cake, but on her Instagram page she was praising her younger sister, Jamie-Lynn. We know that Britney has feelings, that she hasn't had it easy with her family is also clear... Hopefully Britney and her sister will be fine again, everyone could use some extra love this Christmas time, right?

  • We don't hear much about Robbie Williams, but that will change in 2023 if it's up to Robbie. He has a busy year planned, his own talent show. Would he want to rival Simon Cowell?

Taking 25K steps every day, got addicted to walking. More than 100 songs on his PC that no one has ever heard… And that should all fit in a year? So it's not surprising that his sex life is dead, at least ... that's what his wife let slip a while ago.

Well, you can be Robbie Williams, but that doesn't make you superman!

  • And of course the English royal family keeps many people busy. Anyone who is involved in this and has a Netflix subscription will undoubtedly be full of anticipation for the Sussexes' documentary that is expected to air on Thursday. And this is expected to bring an utterly explosive Christmas time to the English Royal Family .

Hopefully you enjoyed this weeks Newspaper!

Enjoy your week

HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND WE WILL RETURN!

We like to point out the following note about plagiarism once again!

We have an entire team dedicated to finding AND reporting plagiarism and abuse. And be warned, we NEVER will tolerate plagiarized blogs. Not in plagiarized words, nor images!

We have seen some really great posts that failed to source their pictures and so we were not able to curate them properly. Remember to only post YOUR OWN words and to properly source the photos that you use that are not your own.

Plagiarism is THEFT and has no place in our CineTV family!

Thanks...we love you all!

Oh boy Johnny Depp, so many great roles.. Let's see if people are going to take this opportunity to grab the tokens! I reminded them on Twitter, hopefully, someone shares a little personal story here!

avatar

I really hope so, and it's defo a good chance to grab a nice chunk of tokens at once. They have a great actor to write about. I mean, Johnny is just another actor.

avatar

I've always been amazed by the weird roles he had but he owned them all, they fit him like a glove as well. He may be a bit of a nut head but acting he sure can!

oh man, what would be the quintessential johnny depp film????? do you go for the easy road of his multitude of blockbuster films? or do you ease into some of his best, most passionate performances? For me, one of his roles that absolutely moved me the most would have to be Benny and Joon. There is something so pure and raw about his performance in that film that he felt almost as your friend, not just an actor on the big screen. i feel that movie, more than any other of his, solidified his place in my heart as one of my favorite actors.

absolutely wonderful job on the paper this week @hetty-rowan !

Johnny Deep, I would almost say that he is Tim Burton's fetish actor, has proven to be a very competent and chameleon-like actor with a troubled private life that has been affected by the death of River Phoenix at the doors of a club he owned, his stumbles in hotels, his drunkenness at deliveries and his mediatic divorce from Amber Heard.

He has achieved notoriety and popularity for his performance as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, as Tim Burton's Willy Wonka and Burton's Ed Wood.

I really enjoyed his exquisite role in Benny and Joon, a love story where Deep pays homage to silent films, Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

I also liked Nick of Time, an interesting thriller where hypothetically everything happens in real time.

Deep is a good actor.

Johnny Depp? Although he is not a favorite actor of mine, I did like his performance in Don Juan DeMarco, and more recently his performance in Fantastic Beasts - where he played Grindelwald - he really delivered on being a creepy, evil wizard in that film big time. I am a bit disappointed Depp got cancelled from continuing in that role going forward, as he delivered on it quite well. Oh, yeah, let's not forget Depp played Ed Wood (he was a bit of a weird guy back in the day, and made some really cheesy films), opposite Martin Landau who played Bela Lugosi in the film Ed Wood.
