Hello CineTV

It has been a week of bad weather, both outside and in the Cine TV Contest. We had a lot of wet weather here, it was supposed to be ice and snow and it turned out to be some slush and luckily not much danger. The roads were a tad icy for a few hours but it was mostly a dud of a storm.

It's probably for the best that the real storm in my area wasn't that bad. But I had a fantastic time reading all of the choices for this this week's contest. The weather in these movies was definitely bad enough for all of us. :)

Let's get to this week's winners:

First Place

The first place finisher was @nathyortiz with a review of The Impossible found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@nathyortiz/eng-spa-cinetv-contest-49-favorite-movie-with-bad-weather-oror-the-impossible-tailandia-2004

What a scary movie about the unpredictability of weather! This is a perfect example of a movie built around bad weather, a terrible occurence that is so devastating to anyone in it's path. Thank you for highlighting this movie as I have not seen it but I have added it to my list. Congrats!

Second place

In second place we have @actioncats with their choice of The Proposal here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@actioncats/cinetv-contest-in-the-eye

Having lived through a few tornados, this is a realistic bad weather movie choice for me. However, through your review this movie looks much more devastating than what I experienced. I appreciated your movie choice and your review. Thanks and congrats!

Third place

Our third place winner in this contest is @dagger212 with their choice of Groundhog Day and can be found here: https://peakd.com/hive-121744/@dagger212/cinetvcontest-groundhog-day

It's so interesting that I had never thought of this movie when I came up with the topic but this is one of my favorite movies. Bill Murray is awesome in this movie and the weather preventing him from going home is fundamental in the story. Thanks so much for your entry!

Congrats!

225 CINE COINS and 100 Ecency Points will be transferred to the winners.

Now if anyone disagrees with our choices then please tag us in a comment on this post!

And let's move on to the new contest!

Favorite Iconic 80s Movie

On to our next contest! Thank you to @ecency for sponsoring our Cine TV contests! Check them out at ecency.com. 🙂

Some of you here are not old enough to remember the 1980's. But as a child during the 80's, I can tell you that at although it wasn't perfect, that period had such iconic moments and especially movies! The time period was filled with great stories, ground breaking special effects, iconic characters and unforgettable cinematography.

The contest this week, we are looking for you to pick your iconic 80's movie and give us a review and why this is your choice. There are so many amazing choices that I am so excited to read your reviews!

Here are some thoughts to get you started: What made this choice of movie an iconic 80's movie? What character or characters made this a great movie? Was there a scene that cemented this as iconic? Would this movie have been made today? What would need to change to make it today? Did you watch this movie when it came out? What memories do you have of the movie if you saw it in the 1980s?

Those are just some ideas to get you started. Please be original and write a creative response to the topic. Don't retell the plot or plagiarize. Originality is required for curation and to be considered for the contest.

I look forward to reading your selections. Have a great week!

Please check out the list of rules and suggestions below or feel free to ask me in the Discord channel if you have any questions (caulderfreeman). Enjoy this week's contest and good luck!

Man, unsure what my fave would be. There were so many of them. I'm a bit of an action buff so I would have to say one of the best was Die Hard - Yippe Kay-a Motherf***!!
