I haven't had the chance to see the film yet, but I found your analysis fascinating and very thorough.
I'm particularly intrigued by what you mention about the sound design, the whirring lights, and how the empty spaces manage to generate terror without resorting to typical jump scares. It's a shame that, as you say, the script tries to over-explain the mystery towards the end with the creature and the research team, instead of relying on the silence and uncertainty it had been building so effectively.
Even so, the performances of Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinswe, which you highlight, have made me want to give it a chance to judge that liminal terror for myself.
