Young Mei is a red monster.
Red like passions, rebellions, revolutions, the beginning of adulthood.
A monster like the demons that we try to silence, to hide, to forget.

But the dark sides contrast with the light and the out-of-shape and out-of-standard distortions make each one unique and unrepeatable, against a general, common, shared flattening and against a conformism that, as such, has nothing special and in some ways not even funny.
Once again, Disney Pixar investigates the turning points at significant age transitions. To grow up is literally 'to grow up' with all the objective and above all subjective difficulties.

The external battles are only the tip of the iceberg of the great intimate and personal struggles. Spending a lifetime sedating him makes the enemy more aggressive and destructive. Living with it and taking care of it means becoming adults aware of their limits and capable of making imperfections a distinctive and original trait.

And in this process, affections are the masters above all, the real ones who pay no attention to shape or color because they are in love with defects.
As usual, animated films for adults who want to understand the world of adolescents, especially those they carry inside and with whom, perhaps, they have not yet made peace. It is never too late to grow up and become great, without forgetting the charm of youth.

Ma i lati oscuri fanno da contrasto alla luce e le storture fuori forma e fuori norma rendono ciascuno unico e irripetibile, contro un appiattimento generale, comune, condiviso e contro un conformismo che, in quanto tale, non ha nulla di speciale e per certi versi neppure di divertente.
Ancora una volta, Disney Pixar indaga i punti di svolta ai passaggi significativi dell'età. Crescere è letteralmente 'diventare grandi' con tutte le difficoltà oggettive e soprattutto soggettive.

Le battaglie esteriori sono solo la punta dell'iceberg delle grandi lotte intime e personali. Passare una vita a sedarlo, rende il nemico più aggressivo e distruttivo. Conviverci e averne cura vuol dire diventare adulti consapevoli dei propri limiti e capaci di fare delle imperfezioni un tratto distintivo e originale.

E in questo processo a far da padroni sono gli affetti sopra tutto, quelli veri che non badano né alla forma né al colore perché innamorati dei difetti.
Come al solito, film di animazione per adulti che vogliano capire il mondo degli adolescenti, specialmente quelli che si portano dentro e con i quali, magari, non hanno ancora fatto pace. Non è mai troppo tardi per crescere e diventare grandi, senza dimenticare l'incanto della gioventù.
