What if machines start learning? What if video game characters acquired awareness? What if artificial intelligence could think?
With or without animation, Disney productions always ask us about great moral and philosophical themes, through the pleasure and enjoyment of films for all.

Whether we are talking about reality, virtual or augmented reality, what remains appears simple to say but not easy to do: reduce conflicts, take nothing or anyone for granted 'in the background', look beyond the surface, ask questions, raise doubts, rebelling against the status quo, acting and reacting, being dissenting, trusting, relying on, teaming up to make a difference. Change from the small and from the bottom to the top.
Revolutionize to move forward. Exit the loop and reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary.
At the base of everything: being a free guy, free individuals, assuming all the responsibility for freedom. Not really a walk!
Free guy does exactly what cinema and video games do: through fiction and avatars to tell the limits and potential of real life and living beings in flesh and blood. Because the matrix of any artificial intelligence will always be a human intelligence and before 'something' can learn to think, there must be 'someone' who can teach it, for better or for worse.

The rest comes by itself. Free guy is in full Disney mood: "if you can dream it, you can do it".

E se le macchine iniziassero a imparare? Se i personaggi dei videogiochi acquisisssero consapevolezza? Se l'intelligenza artificiale sapesse pensare?
Con o senza animazione, le produzioni Disney si e ci interrogano sempre su grandi temi morali e filosofici, attraverso il piacere e il divertimento di film per tutti.

Che si parli di realtà, di realtà virtuale o aumentata, quello che resta appare semplice da dirsi ma non facile da farsi: ridimensionare i conflitti, non dare nulla e nessuno per scontato 'in background', guardare oltre la superficie, porsi domande, sollevare dubbi, ribellarsi allo status quo, agire e reagire, essere difformi, fidarsi, affidarsi, fare squadra per fare la differenza. Cambiare dalle cose piccole e dal basso per arrivare in cima.
Rivoluzionare per andare avanti. Uscire dal loop e svelare la straordinarietà nell'ordinarietà.
Alla base di tutto: essere free guy, individui liberi, assumendosi tutta la responsabilità della libertà. Non proprio una passeggiata!
Free guy fa esattamente quello che fanno il cinema e i videogiochi: raccontare attraverso la finzione e gli avatar i limiti e le potenzialità della vita reale e degli esseri viventi in carne ed ossa. Perché la matrice di ogni intelligenza artificiale sarà sempre un'intelligenza umana e prima che 'qualcosa' possa imparare a pensare, deve esserci 'qualcuno' in grado di insegnarglielo, nel bene e nel male.
