The fantasy movies that influenced my teenage life (and beyond)

My favorite genre is action fantasy, so to speak Marvel saga, Star Wars and I could go on with many other titles. It is a passion that was born since I was a child when my father showed me Star Wars, I was about 7 years old and I was terribly fascinated by the bright and colorful lightsabers! The saga is actually quite complex to understand why there is a not simple plot, full of intrigues, abstract concepts such as strength, a power that is difficult to describe and understand for a non-attentive audience, complicated names, stellar routes... but the The charm of the Jedi knights remained memorized in my mind and influenced my cinematic tastes even in the following years.

Another film that I loved as a child is The Neverending Story, one of the most beloved science fiction films for children of all time, and which still continues to broadcast especially on TV during the Christmas period, at least in Italy. Who does not love the FortunaDrago Falkor or has not wept at the death of Artax, the horse of Atreyu? The story is much simpler than Star Wars and I remember well seeing it so many times on my VHS that it broke the tape! VHS ... this is the history of cinematography! My brother and I broke all records because when we first saw it, we liked it so much we kept seeing it every night for a week! We had become completely addicted to it! The two sequels are less exciting.

Another science fiction film for kids that I loved is Labyrinth, a science fiction film in which star David Bowie appears in the character of Jareth, the king of the Goblins, guilty of kidnapping Sarah's little brother, who will have to overcome a full labyrinth. of oddities and bizarre creatures to reach his brother. A film full of many fairy-tale creatures, in a very simple but compelling plot, accompanied by musical pieces sung by Bowie himself. I am particularly fond of this film because I saw it for the first time with my best friend, we were 10 years old, and we continued to see it together annually until a few years ago, now we had 30 years, then life family has interrupted this good habit of ours. However, I would like to resume this healthy habit.

Finally, I make a big leap forward in time and mention the whole world of Marvel, being a great fan of comics since childhood and today a decent collector of many comics from the successful series. I have seen all the films at the cinema and still today I continue to see them as if it were the first time, they excite me, make me feel like a child again, and I really like everything.

There are many other titles in the fantasy genre that have influenced my teenage life but these are the most representative ones. If there hadn't been these films what genre would have been my favorite? Honestly I don't know how to answer, but I am grateful to those who invented science fiction and allowed me to often mentally escape from reality and embrace the magical world of fantasy.

If I had to choose a favorite genre of movies and series, it would definitely be Action Fantasy, I even love it in books because it's fantastic, a world of possibilities is shown in every movie. The Marvel movies are very good, I've seen several and I really love them. Very good your selection of movies!

I really love Star Wars universe, the movies, for me, are a little boring but all the world around is so incredible to me and The Mandalorian is a master piece. Thanks for sharing
