Tired of watching movies where the protagonist is a super attractive character that has to overcome challenges with a happily ever after ending attached to it???? Well look no further because I have the recommendation you might just be craving for.. This is a story about a disfigured boy with the face of monster but with a heart of Gold... A boy born with misfortune, never having anything all his life but ends up on the right side of history. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Quasimodo- The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Set in the 15th century of Paris, the film starts with four Gypsies(two men, a woman and her baby) sneaking into the city but are quickly surrounded by Judge Claude Frollo and his men. The lady runs off with her baby into the city but Frollow follows in hot pursuit, he quickly catches up with her and after a brief struggle, Frollo kicks her to death.

He unwraps the baby and seeing it's disfigured form tries to throw the child into a well to end it's life but is stopped by the priest of the church who warms him that he has sinned against God and must take the baby as his own to make up for all his wrongdoings- a request Frollo reluctantly agrees to
The baby all grown now is naked Quasimodo, the bell ringer of Notre Dame under the care of Frollo and is restricted from socializing with the people of the city.

Quasimodo has just three friends: Victor, Hugo and Laverne, stone gargoyles who keep him company and also tells him to sneak off to the festival of fools and after his request is rejected by his master Frollo, Quasimodo decides to listen to the advice of his only friends. On the festival grounds, Quasimodo becomes the centre of attraction and for the first time ever, he feels like he belongs.

However this excitement quickly turns into disgrace when the people realize that his appearance is not a mask but his true figure. During this shattering moment, Quasimodo is saved by Esmeralda a beautiful gypsy dancer and the two become immediately become friends. Defying Frollo's orders also turns Esmeralda into a fugitive seeking sanctuary in Notre Dame and ends up hiding in the bell tower with help from Quasimodo.

The newly installed Captain of the guards Phoebus also makes contact with Esmeralda and law of attraction works it's magic.

Quasimodo helps Esmeralda sneak out of the cathedral at night and she hands him some sort of necklace which is meant to guide him to her whenever the need arises. Realizing that Quasimodo had helped the gypsy dancer escape, Frollo goes into full on obsession mode determine to either make Esmeralda his or end her life permanently. He heads into town, persecuting and burning the houses of Gypsies in an attempt to lure her out. This finally works as Quasimodo who is desperate to save his friend figures out the hiding spot of the Gypsies and runs off with the now fugitive captain unbeknownst to them that the Judge was quickly following them behind. Frollo arrests every gypsy at the hideout and sentences Esmeralda to death by burning after she turns down his offer.

Quasimodo who wants nothing but to save his only friend defies his master, rushes down the church, unties Esmeralda and takes her into the church to achieve sanctuary. Frollo persists as well, he goes into to church with the intention to kill both the Quasimodo and Esmeralda.

He engages Quasimodo in a heated battle but ends up falling to his death from the top of the tower thanks to his own miscalculation. With the death of the Judge, the town finally calms down from all the chaos with two significant changes: The Judge who is supposed to be the pinnacle of humanity ends up through the path of a monster and the Monster is finally accepted by the entire town as a man of pure heart...

The hunchback of Notre Dame is a story that teaches people to look beyond physical appearances as things are not always what they seem and people with good hearts is all it takes to make a change regardless of their looks...
