When Toys have Stories of their own
Ever wonder what happens to your toys at home as a kid whenever you leave for school or straight up enjoying the outdoors?. Well look no further as the cartoon movie Toy story largely focuses on some of your speculations in the most fascinating way possible.
Having a well established franchise with four solid films, Toy story is beautiful animated film that centers on the behavior of toys in the absence of humans. The first film was released on the 22nd of November 1995 produced by Pixar animated studios and distributed by Walt Disney. Despite having 4 movies the primary focus of this content will be solely on the first due personal attachments from my own end.
The film begins in the room of Andy, a young boy with lots of toys but chooses Woody ( a cowboy toy with a string attached to its back) as his favorite. After playing with the toys in his room Andy heads down stairs leaving the toys and the moment he is out of sight, all the toys begin to move proving they all have some sort of life in them.
As the favourite toy amongst the bunch, Woody is automatically made their leader regulating their activities in the absence of their owner. Woody also enjoys certain privileges that comes with being the favorite toy and the leader of the entire collection.
However, things start to change when Andy is gifted with a cool new space ranger toy named Buzz Light-year for his birthday. The toy comes with a lot of features like jet wings, red laser lights and lots more which draws Andy into spending more time with the new toy ignoring the sheriff - Woody.
Buzz light-year, the new toy on the other hand believes himself to be a real ranger stranded on a foreign planet and needs to head back home immediately. Fascinated by his gadgets and unique personality, the other toys also begin to hover around Buzz making Woody extremely jealous. Woody realizes he needs to fix this new problem and decides to shove Buzz behind the desk in Andy's room. An accident occurs and buzz is hit by a lap knocking him outside the window. The other toys find out that Woody is the cause of all this and accuse him of trying to get rid of Buzz out of pure jealousy, they all ignore him disappointed by his actions.
Andy is about to go on a trip to pizza planet but after searching for Buzz to no avail, decides to take Woody instead. When the car they are driving in stops at a gas station for gas, Buzz sneaks into the car and attacks Woody as retaliation. The struggle causes both of them to fall out of the car with Andy zooming off without them. After the struggle ends, Woody is able to calm Buzz down and convince him they should board on a pizza planet truck lying that it was headed straight to the rocket that'll take him home.
The two companions get to pizza planet safely but instead going back with Andy, a silly mistake leads them into the hands of Sid, a kid popularly known for wrecking and disfiguring toys. He takes them back home trapping them with the rest of his freaking looking toys.
Woody tries to escape the clutches of Sid and his other toys as he plans to blow them up with a huge display of firecrackers but is unable to convince Buzz to cooperate as he is completely devastated from learning he is actually a toy after watching a commercial on television. Woody however does not give up, he continues to give him positive pep talks until he finally gets back to his usual sef.
Woody and Buzz hatch an escape plan from Sid's room and with help from the other toys the plan goes off successfully scaring Sid so hard he will probably never torment toys again.
Woody and Buzz break out of Sid's place just in time to catch up with Andy's family as they are relocating and enters the family car through an opening on the roof much to the surprise and joy of their owner Andy.
The adventure draw both toys closer together becoming best friends even after realizing Andy was getting a dog as a Christmas gift.
Now you know some of the activities your toys indulge in in your absence. If you still have any of your childhood toys with you try sneak up on them without making a sound, you might find something straight out of a Toy's Story.
Thanks.
The pictures are all gotten from IMDb
To much exploitation here... Not your review, of course bit with this story (the Toy Story's one)... Too long
There's exploitation in the story
Now that's something new could you explain
Reading this felt like stepping back into childhood. Bro this your review connects personally with Toy Story makes the story even more touching. It’s more than just a cartoon it’s about friendship, jealousy, growth, and those silent moments we once shared with our favorite toys.
Please I lost your contact, can you drop it here for me.
Brother toy story is way up there amongst goated animations that kicked off from the 90s. Till this very day I give myself a rewatch just so I can relive those beautiful moments as cartoons these days seems to focus more on propaganda rather than the ideals we grew up to love
No problem here's my number: 07061113850
Thank you bro
One of the greatest animated movies of all the time. No doubt about it🙌
It's way up there in the animation hierarchy. Shame they don't make them like they used to
