Remarkably Bright Creatures: A Netflix Gem Worth Your Time
So I don't usually watch Netflix, but I checked Rotten Tomatoes and saw it was doing pretty well. The cover made it look like some cheerful feel good thing, so I figured why not, might be a good way to kill some time. Turns out it's way better than that.
Real Emotional Stuff
Honestly, the emotional vibe of this movie is unlike anything else I've watched this year. "Project Hail Mary" is the only other thing that comes close, but this one hits different. The twists and turns feel magical, not forced. Like, you actually feel stuff.

What It's About
It's basically about two people who are trapped. There's this older woman who lost her son and now works at an aquarium. She takes care of an octopus and helps it move around. But the crazy part is, the octopus feels her pain too. Like they're both stuck in their own worlds, and they just get each other without even trying.
Then there's this random dude, just some guy with nothing going on, who shows up. His whole thing is chaotic and weird, and it takes a minute to understand what's happening when he meets these two. It's kind of messy but in a good way.
Just Watch It
The octopus narration is really something else. You're seeing everything through this creature's eyes, and it's honestly beautiful. What gets you is the genuine stuff in this movie: a struggling artist trying to find a reason, an old woman who has lost everything but keeps going anyway. Those quiet moments stick with you.
This movie is about people trying to keep moving when life has knocked them down. If you want something that actually makes you feel something real, watch it. Trust me.
