Great breakdown — I had a similar reaction to a lot of Shyamalan-adjacent horror lately: strong atmosphere up front, then it loses its nerve and starts explaining itself into the ground. Sounds like The Watchers falls into that same trap of choosing exposition over sustained dread. Dakota Fanning being flat is surprising too, since she's usually reliable even in weaker material. I might still check it out for the setup, but I'll go in with lowered expectations for the back half. I appreciate the honest take, especially with the rating to back it up.

You might like it because of the horror elements drawn from Irish folklore, but don't expect much from the script; honestly, it's not worth it.
