RE: Barron's Cove (film): intrigued, bored, confused, and annoyed all at once

I would say any film harming kids would be more taboo than anything else even though it happens in real life. There are very few kid actors that are not irritating and why I think having kids in a leading role is off putting for most people.

I have a difficult time coming up with any actual good child actors. Macauley Culkin was good, like genuinely good, and the the 6th sense kid was alright before he got exceptionally ugly looking. I think that I really struggle with kids that are given roles that require depth and it shouldn't be a huge surprise when they don't have any. They are too young to really realize emotional depth and when asked to do it, like given direction to do it, they often overact.
I think a lot of the time that this is the fault of the writers though when they try to make the kids seem more adult than they are. This was the case in this movie where the little kid is a devious mastermind of sorts. gimme a break.
I remember the 6th sense kid and he was good and played his role well.
