Heard about the show, but never watched it as this just does not interest me. I hate hospitals at the best of times so I have no appeal to even see what this is about. Can't believe this show has been around that long because 25 years is serious time for any tv series. I wonder what the longest running tv series is? The Simpsons apparently since 1989.

Well it's not really about a hospital so much as it is about life and interaction between humans who all suffer similar problems and their relationships with their jobs and others.
Just to be clear this show is not still airing. They did 8 seasons but are in the process of bringing the show back out, which I think is a mistake. I don't think that any re-launch of any beloved show has ever worked out very well.
