Everyone has their own favorite chair. Favorite seating may be television chairs designed for time spent in front of the TV, gaming chairs designed for long gaming sessions in front of the computer, or long sofas for napping when needed.

My most comfortable place is in the driving seat of my car. I love to drive and my car seat is the place where I feel the best when it's in the right setting for the journey. I wish I could describe it as my safest place, but it's not just in my hands! Anything can happen at any time in traffic and you have to be ready for any situation. Having to be so cautious and feeling insecure in the place where I feel most comfortable seems to contradict myself.

Imagine that a bomb that is activated by body weight is placed under your car seat where you are driving comfortably! In an instant, the place where you are most comfortable will turn into the place where you are most uncomfortable. The possibility of this event, which is even difficult to imagine, happening in our lives is almost impossible, but the 2018 German production Steig. Nicht. Aus! is the main storyline in the fiction of the movie.

The story, which can be told in just one sentence, turns into an enjoyable movie in the action, drama genre with a great progression in my opinion. The main character Karl Brendt (played by Wotan Wike Möhring), who is in the driving seat of the car, beautifully explains to the audience both the difficulties he faces and the responsible parental behavior. I liked the acting of the main character and one of the social messages of the movie was that the past will never leave us alone. The things we leave behind or the behaviors we think we have left behind may come back to haunt us in the future.

The director deserves praise for managing to create high tension from what I thought was a simple story. The story and its progression is not perfect, of course there are gaps, but thanks to the right things done, the thriller and drama genre of the story is handled successfully and the mistakes are covered up thanks to the right things. Or you don't want to see them because of the joy of watching.

Steig. Nicht. Aus! I recommend you to watch it as a successful television movie. The moments full of suspense and drama with a taste of drama leave a pleasant viewing pleasure.
