The last old wolf; Harrison Ford

When the wolf grows old, he becomes the laughing stock of dogs.

I think this statement is valid for many people, whether they are actors, athletes or politicians, when the work requires a certain amount of physical strength, I have always found it right to quit in time and at the top.

For example, I didn't like Bruce Willis with his performance in the film Fortress, which I watched a few days ago, and I think he should quit, maybe he has quit, I don't know.

But there are some people to whom this statement does not apply. As there are and will be exceptions in every event, Harrison Ford is one of these exceptions. If you have watched the 2020 film The Call of the Wild, you understand what I want to say. It was nice to watch that he did not lose anything from his adventurous spirit in the Indiana Jones film series, and despite his advancing age, he chose to move forward, not to stand still.

In 1997, she and Brad Pitt, with whom she starred in the film The Davil's Own, were remembered for their ego battles on the sets. I remember that even in the dubbed trailer of the film, what happened on the sets was highlighted. As a film viewer, I don't care because I only like their reflections in the film.

Harrison Ford is now 80 years old! As far as I remember, the only film I can refer to his advancing age is The Call of the Wild and with his performance there, he has already proved that his age represents only numerical value for him.

I still wonder about his acting in Indiana Jones 5. I don't think the film will be very different from the previous series, but I guess that it will be Harrison Ford's performance that will push the film forward or push it back. I hope that his adventurous spirit will be in harmony with his physical body or somehow reflected to the audience.

I remember Tom Cruise's successful performance in Top Gun; Maverick, with his acting in the film and other films that followed. Just as I remember the disappointment in Bruce Willis.

Later in life, some performances can lead to harsh criticism. Like thinking that one should quit! I remember athletes, actors and politicians who have been subjected to such criticism. Since the work done in these and similar fields is not like running a family business, the harshness of the criticism can be understood.

Maybe it will be a jubilee for Harrison Ford, maybe he has different projects in mind that he has already approved, but I think that the role of Indy will be decisive in which of the continuation or completion options will prevail.

Although I know that there are many films belonging to Harrison Ford and I have seen some of them, it may be my oddity that I remember him for his Indiana Jones films and his ego battles with Brad Pitt. For example;

Just like the strangeness of Empire magazine putting him in 15th place in the list of the 100 sexiest film stars of all time. source

Thank you for entering the MovieStar of the week blog challenge. I'm glad Harrison Ford could inspire you to write a blog. And I also agree with you, the acting of Harrison will make or break Indiana Jones 5. I also have no idea what to expect ... and that makes me very curious. But I really can't see Harrison at 80 years of age acting the same as for example when he made "Raiders of the lost arc".

I think this is acceptable up to a point, but at some point it can lead to serious criticism. I think the actors should evaluate this more than the producers or directors, because the cinema audience watches films both more and more carefully than in previous years. I see it as an advantage for actors who are aware of what they can give, but a disadvantage for those who have lost their potential.

I absolutely agree with your curiosity, I am looking forward to the end of the year for the Avatar film and 2023 for Indiana Jones.

For me, Bruce Willis once had a good name in the movie industry. For reasons that I cannot fathom, he started making this crap movies that totally destroyed his name.

I remember the saying that says that wine goes better with age. I believe this is true in the case of Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise. For Bruce Willis, I don't know, maybe it gets bitter. 😁

Anyways, thanks for sharing.

I absolutely agree with what you say about Bruce Willis. The old age had the opposite effect on him, he should have been more selective and creative as he progressed in the field he spent years in. Maybe he was only financially orientated while evaluating the offers, I don't know, but he has moved far away from the old Bruce Willis look.

Thank you.
