The Menu || The menu for the last meal to be eaten!

As a person who likes to follow cooking shows whenever I have time, The Menu movie managed to attract my attention with its title and plot.

When I focused on the plot for a while, my impatience to watch the movie increased... and finally I watched the movie.

On a 12-acre island, the idea of naturally grown vegetables prepared and served with ocean products was quite appetizing at the beginning. For this reason alone, I would watch the movie regardless of its duration because I like eating more than making.

Although Chef Julian Slowik (played by Ralph Fiennes) is behind the story of the film, I was under the impression, perhaps with a prejudice, that the film would appeal to people with a good palate. In fact, in the first few minutes I thought I had hit the nail on the head, but the progression of the story turned the film into a text of suspense and patience rather than a taste test.

Pre-selected people are taken to an island and forced to taste the dishes on the menu. I say forced because at the beginning, the relationship between the customer and the chef is voluntary and then becomes forced.

This changes the movie from being a food-centered production to a thriller, horror genre... and of course, I was wrong and my expectations of seeing mouth-watering visual images of food were dashed.

Even though I was wrong in terms of expectations, I think The Menu was a different kind of movie that was highly watchable in terms of the suspense it offered. Those who are going to watch it should first forget about the mouth-watering food images so that they won't be mistaken like me. lolol

The biggest negative of the movie, which I thought was very well thought out and started very well in the beginning, was that it could not be tied to a point at the end. It was disappointing that in such a well thought out organization (script) there were gaps between the goal and the result.

My favorite moments of the movie were when the chef created a story behind each menu as he presented it. Each story was special because it symbolized the next stage and it was possible to see those moments through the eyes of Chef Slowik.

The pictures engraved on the bread and the information about each character's past were my other favorite moments of the movie. These were the moments that made me smile in such a thriller movie.

I think the rating given to the movie on IMDB is too high, but I don't see the movie as mediocre. I liked the script and the progression of the story. It could have been an excellent movie if the gaps could have been filled, but I still had a pleasant time in terms of watchability.
