Yesterday I wanted to pass time watching some movies. I didn’t have anything in mind. When I was walking into the cinema, I noticed a huge poster for A Working Man. I saw Jason Statham holding a huge hammer. The movie caught my attention even when I had no iso of what the story line looks like. I decided to watch the movie and see what it looks like.

The movie is based on Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon. Although the story was not a real life story. But the plot and the actions feel real. This kind of storyline will make you think this could actually happen.

The story

The role of Levon Cade, played by Jason Statham, is a former black-ops soldier. All his life he have been into dangerous missions, but he wants to settle down and stop them. He works in construction and keeps to himself.

That peace doesn’t last. One faithful day, the daughter (Jenny) of his boss got missing. The police aren’t moving fast, and Levon senses something is wrong. His search leads to a chilling truth she has been taken by a group involved in human trafficking.

To save her, Levon has to return to his old ways. All his old life which he have decided to leave all came back the fighting chasing etc. He went into investigation, the found out different criminals and street gangs.

The more danger he faces, the more his past resurfaces. Levon didn’t want trouble, but trouble found him.

What the movie made me feel

I understand what it means to be a real hero while watching the movie. Levon has a bad violent record in the past. He stepped in to rescue his boss daughter Jenny when nobody was ready to do so.

With is movies I understood how deadly human trafficking could be. This is what many your women and children experience real life. Seeing Levon fight for Jenny reminded me that there are real people out there risking their lives to save others.
Another thing I took from it is that helping people often comes with sacrifice. Levon could have turned away and minded his own business. But he didn’t. That kind of bravery is rare.

My favorite scene

The scene that stayed with me is when Levon finally finds Jenny in a warehouse. The place is dark and tense. Before he can reach her, armed men attack.

The fight is raw. Levon uses his fists, nearby tools, and even the surroundings to survive. He’s clearly hurt, but he pushes on. Finally, he breaks the lock holding Jenny. She cries in relief. He doesn’t say much he just wraps his jacket around her and walks her out.
It’s a quiet, powerful moment. Care without words.

What didn’t work for me

I really enjoyed the movie, but there were slow parts. In the middle, there’s a long conversation between Levon and an old friend. It gives background, but it slows the pace.

Also, the main villain doesn’t appear until much later. If we had seen him earlier, the tension could have been higher from the start.

What the movie did well

David Ayer directed the film, and the action feels real. The fights aren’t glossy or overly choreographed. You feel every hit. The camera work captures the contrast between the bright construction sites and the dark world of crime.

The sound is strong, too. You hear the clanging of metal, the echo of footsteps, and even moments of silence before a fight. Levon serious personality matches the music.

Jason Statham acts what you expect from the punching to kicking, it was perfect. But he also nails the quiet, emotional moments. Michael Peña adds a softer touch as Levon’s friend and boss.

How it left me feeling

I walked in expecting just another action movie. I walked out feeling like I had seen something with more heart. Levon’s strength isn’t just in his fighting it’s in his care for others.

The title A Working Man fits perfectly. It’s not only about his construction job. It’s about doing hard, dangerous work when it matters most.

Final thoughts

This movie is full of auctions and drama not only that it also have a super star actor Levon

Would I watch it again? Yes.

Would I recommend it? Definitely.

I give A Working Man a 9/10. It’s thrilling, emotional, and worth your time.
