Inheritance is a chilling story about why some secrets need to stay buried

One recent night @flowerbaby and I were scouring all of the different streaming apps for something to watch together before bed. We were on Netflix and stumbled upon Inheritance. She was interested right away and I was too once I saw that Simon Pegg was one of the main characters. We started it right away without even looking up a trailer or reviews. Luckily we did that because reviews are pretty negative for this film. We both thought the complete opposite of the critics on this one, is sure isn't the first time that happened. Inheritance was so freaking good and had us both hooked the entire time.
Without revealing any major plot points, the basic premise of the movie is centered around a super wealthy family in NYC. The father is a banker, the daughter (Lily Collins) is a lawyer, and the younger brother is a politician. You can guess there is corruption lingering within. Things were already busy for both of the children, but ramp up even more when their father suddenly dies and his last will and testament are revealed to the family. Along with that comes a series of secrets that slowly unravel throughout this film.
The biggest secret of all is the fact that the father has kept a man chained up in a hidden bunker on his family's estate for over 30 years. The daughter inherits far less money than her brother, who was the golden child. While the poor girl inherits a decent sum, albeit much less, AND the secret prisoner becomes her responsibility too.
Simon Pegg plays the captive and my goodness does he put on an entertaining show. His character is so mysterious and seems to be submissive to the daughter's will. Only time will tell if he can be trusted enough to be released. One thing is for certain, he knows a lot more about the family than either of the other family members ever dreamed of knowing.
In today's video, I will be discussing in more detail why I think this is an essential watch. My girlfriend and I both thought that Inheritance was one of the best films that we have watched in a while. Maybe we were just really high off of edibles, or perhaps I'm Simon Pegg-obsessed and my gf will love anything that Lily Collins is in.

You won't be disappointed with this film. It is a great mystery that slowly unravels itself and results in shocking revelations that cannot be unseen.

the truth is that there are times when the reviews are not good but how everything is so subjective and the opinions are different. Is that you have to see it and choose one if you like it or not

That movie sounds interesting for sure! I won't see it so I want to look it up and see what the ending was, I kind of think that she marries the dude or something LOL now that's a twist! That's crazy though, inheriting a bunker with a dude in it lol wtf
It's crazier than you could ever imagine. The plot twists in this are insane!
