Captain America Brave New World – Transition to the Thunderbolts or the end of the MCU?

It seems Marvel never learns its lesson; the new Captain America movie left much to be desired. I stopped watching series and movies from this franchise quite some time ago. The last series I watched was Moon Knight, thinking it was necessary to connect with the plot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it was a total disappointment. Even the latest Deadpool and Wolverine movie wasn't as fun as they describe it.

Parece que Marvel no aprende la lección, la nueva película del capitán américa dejó mucho que desear. Deje de ver series y películas de esta franquicia ya hace bastante tiempo, la última serie que ví fue la de Moon Knight pensando que era necesario para unirse a la trama de Doctor Strange en el Multiverso de la Locura, pero todo fue una total de decepción, incluso la última película de Deadpool y Wolverine no fue tan divertida como la describen.

Either I've become very demanding, or Marvel movies have genuinely lost their appeal. I decided to watch this movie because I really liked the Red Hulk storyline as a kid; finally, Hulk had an equal who could face him. So, I started to have good expectations surrounding this movie. However, before its release, I learned that it suffered a budget cut, which led me to think that the first thing they would sacrifice would be the CGI, causing me to lose faith in this new production.

O yo me he vuelto muy exigente o de verdad las películas de Marvel perdieron su atractivo. Decido ver está película porque me gustaba mucho de niño la historia del Hulk rojo, finalmente Hulk tenía un igual que podía enfrentarlo, así que comencé a tener buenas expectativas alrededor de esta película, sin embargo, previo a su estreno supe que sufrió un recorte presupuestario, lo que me llevó a pensar que lo primero que sacrificarían sería el CGI, lo que me llevo a perder la fe en esta nueva producción.

Speaking a bit about the plot, we now see Sam Wilson as an established Captain America. He has new toys thanks to the Wakandans, who provided him with resistant vibranium wings, in addition to the iconic shield given to him by the previous Captain America. But despite everyone seeing him as the new Captain America, he still struggles with not feeling sufficient to fill Cap's shoes, something that personally seemed like a waste of time. It was supposed to be something he had already internalized with the help of other characters in the story.

Ya hablando un poco de la trama, ahora vemos a Sam Wilson como un capitán América consagrado, tiene nuevos juguetes gracias a los Wakandianos que le dotaron de alas resistentes de vibranio, además del icónico escudo que le cedió el anterior capitán América. Pero a pesar que todos lo ven como en nuevo capitán América, el sigue con los conflictos de no sentirse suficiente para llenar los zapatos del cap, algo que en lo personal me pareció una pérdida de tiempo, se supone que era algo que ya había interiorizado con ayuda de otros personajes de la historia.

Regarding the plot, it focuses on resolving internal conflicts where the new Cap must step up to defend the nation by creating a new group of Avengers, and external conflicts because the nation must face other countries in the race to control the materials offered by the giant petrified body of the Celestial from the Eternals movie. I personally think it's too much for the narrative. I'm not saying it can't be done, but in this case, it seems it would have been more entertaining to develop one conflict more extensively from beginning to end, as was done in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, although in Civil War, there were two conflicts that connected very well.

En cuanto a la trama, esta se centra en la solución de conflictos internos donde el nuevo Cap debe dar la talla para defender la nación creando un nuevo grupo de Vengadores, y externos porque la nación debe enfrentar a otros países en la carrera por hacerse con el control de los materiales que ofrece el gigante cuerpo del celestial que quedó petrificado en la película de los Eternals. Creo personalmente que es demasiado para la narrativa, no digo que no se pueda, pero en este caso me parece que hubiera sido más entretenido desarrollar un conflicto más ampliamente de principio a fin, como se hizo en Capitán América y el Soldado del Invierno, aunque en Civil War hubo dos conflictos que logran conectar muy bien.

I think there might have been a mistake in this, because this is intended to be a transition movie for the Thunderbolts, just as Civil War was for Avengers: Infinity War. They wanted to copy the formula of internal and external conflicts, but the budget cut perhaps greatly affected the development of this idea—that of defining a group of antiheroes who can face a greater evil, as the Thunderbolts, who must defeat The Void, one of the strongest villains in the Marvel universe, intend to do.

Creo que quizás en esto hubo un error, porque se pretende que está sea una película de transición para los Thunderbolts, así como lo fue Civil War para Vengadores: Infinity War. Quisieron copiar la fórmula de los conflictos internos y externos, pero el recorte presupuestario quizás afectó mucho el desarrollo de esta idea, la de definir un grupo de antihéroes que pueda enfrentar un mal mayor, como pretende hacer los Thunderbolts que deberán vencer a The Void, uno de los villanos mas fuertes del universo Marvel.

In conclusion, the movie has its shortcomings, but it feels like a transition; it leaves the feeling that something doesn't quite conclude and close a cycle. I'm not saying everything is bad; if you like action and fantastical combat, you'll enjoy it and maybe even laugh, for example, at mini-Falcon saying that since he was little, he always wanted to be Falcon? Who believes that, haha? Everyone wants to be an Avenger; nobody wants to be Ant-Man, for example, haha.

En conclusión la película tiene sus carencias, pero se siente como una transición, deja la sensación de que algo no termina de concluir y cerrar un ciclo. No digo que todo sea malo, si te gusta la acción y el combate fantasioso, la vas a disfrutar y quizás reirte, por ejemplo, con el mini falcón diciendo que desde pequeño siempre quiso ser Falcon? Quien cree eso jajaja todos quieren ser un vengador, nadie quiere ser Antman por ejemplo jajaja.
