Ayer en la noche vi el primer episodio de esta serie y quede gratamente impresionado. Tiene un ritmo imparable, el sentido del humor es de buen gusto y la dirección es brillante, constantemente en movimiento, muy dinámica. Es super entretenida y esto es difícil de encontrar. Creo que tiene todos los elementos adecuados en su justa medida.

Aquí, mientras el cine lucha por mantenerse vigente y relevante, Matt (Seth Rogen) y su equipo, luchan contra sus propias inseguridades mientras lidian con artistas narcisistas y jefes corporativos en la búsqueda de hacer grandes películas, que trasciendan. De esas que ves y suspiras diciendo: "Que buena peli acabo de ver". Se la pasan en constante pánico ya que cada fiesta, visita al set, decisión de casting, reunión de marketing y entrega de premios les presenta la oportunidad de alcanzar un éxito rotundo o una catástrofe que acabe con sus carreras. Como alguien que come, duerme y respira películas, es el trabajo que Matt (Seth Rogen) ha perseguido toda su vida, pero podría muy bien destruirlo.

En este primer episodio Matt (Seth Rogen) es nombrado nuevo director de "Continental Studios" y se pone a cargo de un proyecto que que podría humillarlo públicamente. Matt es un tipo al que le gusta el buen cine, Scorsese, Kubrick... Y el dueño del Continental Studios (interpretado por Bryan Cranston) quiere hacer una película tonta para hacer dinero fácil como "Emoji: la película". Y Matt lucha por hacer de esta película algo memorable, con sustancia, y justo cuando parece que todo va a salir bien, todo se vuelve en su contra. Todo el episodio es un constante meterse en problemas y arreglar las cosas.

Digo que la dirección esta en constante movimiento porque esta llena de One Shots impresionantes. Todo esta muy bien actuado, parece una gran obra de teatro. Y el ritmo no descansa y esto es impresionante porque son todas tomas largas. Para que el ritmo sea tan bueno es necesario mucho ensayo para alcanzar los tiempos adecuados. Se apreciar este tipo de trabajos porque yo lo he hecho y es difícil.

Si quieren pasar un buen rato denle la oportunidad a este primer episodio, si aman el cine seguro que les gustara.

Last night I watched the first episode of this series and was pleasantly impressed. It has a relentless pace, a tasteful sense of humor, and the direction is brilliant, constantly moving and very dynamic. It's super entertaining, and that's hard to find. I think it has all the right elements in just the right amount.

Here, as cinema struggles to stay relevant, Matt (Seth Rogen) and his team battle their own insecurities while dealing with narcissistic artists and corporate bosses in their quest to make great, transcendent films. The kind you watch and sigh, "What a great movie I just saw." They're in constant panic as every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and awards ceremony presents them with the opportunity for either a smash hit or a career-ending catastrophe. As someone who watches, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt (Seth Rogen) has pursued his entire life, but it could very well destroy him.

In this first episode, Matt (Seth Rogen) is named the new head of Continental Studios and takes charge of a project that could publicly humiliate him. Matt is a guy who likes good cinema—Scorsese, Kubrick... And the owner of Continental Studios (played by Bryan Cranston) wants to make a silly movie to make easy money like The Emoji Movie. Matt struggles to make this movie memorable, with substance, and just when it seems like everything's going to turn out well, everything turns against him. The entire episode is a constant struggle to get into trouble and fix things.

I say the direction is in constant motion because it's full of impressive one-shots. Everything is very well-paced, it feels like a great play. And the pacing never lets up, and this is impressive because it's all long takes. For the pacing to be this good, it takes a lot of rehearsal to get the timing right. This kind of work will be appreciated because I've done it, and it's difficult.

If you want to have a good time, give this first episode a chance. If you love movies, you're sure to like it.
