But the great thing about cinema is that you can watch them months later, and they’ll always leave an impression. Many of these films don’t need a deep plot or to rehash something that already exists; instead, they tell a story that gives you something to talk about and think about. That’s why The Endless Road was released—a film with a story that, at first glance, seems very simple, but with each passing second, the tension builds, as a single phone call received in the middle of the night can completely change the pace and create a sense of psychological horror.

The film introduces us to a family that receives a call from their daughter following an incident on a highway—something no parent would ever want to experience, especially when it involves vehicles, given the serious consequences. From that moment on, the film shifts gears, and the tension, desperation, uncertainty, and difficult decisions set in—because the situation is so complicated. It turns into a race to get there and find out what happened, leaving us wondering: Are there any injuries? Will the family be able to help? And little by little, details will be revealed that will leave you speechless.

El año pasado se estrenaron una gran cantidad de películas que fueron casi imposible de ver todas por el mismo hecho de ser varias plataformas, pero lo bueno del cine es que uno las puedes ver meses después y siempre dejarán algo, donde muchas de esas películas no necesitan de una trama profunda o repetir algo que ya existe, sino poder contar una historia que deje de que hablar y de que pensar. Por eso se estrenó La carretera interminable, la cual cuenta con una historia que a simple vista es muy sencilla, pero segundo tras segundo la tensión va subiendo, ya que una simple llamada que reciben a mitad de la noche puede cambiar todo el ritmo y se crea todo un terror psicólogo.

La película nos presenta a una familia que recibe una llamada de su hija tras un incidente ocurrido en una carretera, siendo algo que a ningún padre le gustaría pasar y más aún cuando se trata de vehículos por el mismo de las consecuencias que tiene. De este momento, la película cambio de ritmo y comienza la tensión, la desesperación, la incertidumbre y la decisión difíciles, por ser algo tan complicado y pasa a todo un juego en poder llegar y ver qué pasó y nos preguntamos ¿Habrá heridos?, ¿La familia podrá ayudar? y poco a poco se irán revelando detalles que te dejarán sin palabra.

One of the things that’s truly surprising—and really great—is the way they use the car and the darkness to shape practically the entire film and create that sense of fear, since there’s no way to move any faster. Throughout the journey, they have the opportunity to showcase the fears, guilt, and doubts that any parent might feel when their child finds themselves in a situation like that.

The few actors in this film deliver outstanding performances, effectively conveying the anguish of parents trying to maintain control as everything seems to be falling apart—precisely because they’re under so much pressure. Beyond being a thriller, the film reveals the true face of fear itself. Furthermore, he bears a large part of the responsibility for the entire film, while the others are there simply to fill space and add more pressure to a family trying to resolve all these problems.

Una de las cosas que realmente sorprende y es muy bueno es la manera como utilizan el carro y espacio oscuros para crear prácticamente toda la película y crea esa sensación de miedo, ya que no hay manera de poder avanzar más rápido y a lo largo del viaje es el momento para mostrar miedos, las culpas y las dudas que todo padre puede llegar a sentir cuando a un hijo le llega a pasar una situación como esa.

Los pocos actores que hacen vida en esta película tienen un gran papel, ya que transmiten la angustia de unos padres que intentan mantener el control mientras todo parece ir destruyéndose, por el mismo hecho de que tienen la presión y más allá de un thriller es mostrar la verdadera cara de todo ósea asustado. Además, tiene gran parte de la responsabilidad de toda esta película, mientras que los demás están allí simplemente para llenar espacio y darle más presión a una familia que intenta solventar todos esos problemas.

I really liked how this movie turned out, since it’s not your typical film in this genre; instead, it shows different realities, and that’s why every time you think you’ve found an answer, more pieces of the puzzle emerge, as if the road were endless. That’s why the movie The Endless Road is aimed at a specific audience that enjoys psychological suspense, and after you finish watching it, you’ll be left with questions.

Me gusto mucho el resultado de esta película, ya que no es la típica película de este género, si no va mostrando distintas realidades y por eso cada vez que uno puede llegar a encontrar una respuesta salen más piezas del rompecabeza como si la carretera fuera infinita. Por eso la película La carretera interminable es una propuesta para un público en especial que disfrutan del suspenso psicológico y después de terminarla de ver quedarás con dudas.
