That’s why Hamnet recently premiered; it has generated a lot of buzz, won awards, and tells a story that doesn’t aim to shock with dramatic moments, but instead focuses on something simpler and more human—something we’ve all surely experienced—and explores the emotions that linger when everything changes or when everything seems to be going well.

Los estrenos en las distintas plataformas siguen llegando y muchas han sido todo un éxito, obras, documentales y cada una con algo que mostrar, donde muchas de ellas no necesitan hacer mucho ruido para dejar huella, ya que su historia dejará una gran enseñanza. Por eso hace poco se estrenó Hamnet, la cual ha dado mucho de que hablar, se llevó premios y es una historia que no busque impactar con grandes momentos, sino que apuesta por algo más sencillo, humano y que todos seguramente han pasado por eso y se trata de las emociones que se quedan cuando todo cambia o cuando todo parece ir bien.

This is a film that’s perfect for a specific audience, precisely because it tells a profound story, explores difficult decisions, and invites us to learn a little about and appreciate the figure of William Shakespeare, revealing his most human, down-to-earth side. His life and his greatest motivation lie in his family, which gives him great strength and is always there for him; however, not everything is rosy, and he faces an emotional blow in the form of loss. That’s why the story gains momentum with every passing minute, and the filmmakers don’t aim to tell the story from a grand perspective, but rather from the everyday—from what anyone might feel in such a situation.

Esta es una película donde es perfecta para un solo público, por el mismo hecho de contar una historia profunda, decisiones y nos lleva a aprender y a disfrutar un poco sobre la figura de William Shakespeare, mostrando su lado más humano, sencillo. Su vida y su mayor motivación y en su familia, la cual le dan un gran valor y siempre está allí, sin embargo, no todo es bonito y enfrenta un golpe emocional que representa la pérdida. Por eso cada minuto la historia va tomando fuerza y no buscan contar la historia desde la grandeza, sino desde lo cotidiano, desde lo que cualquiera podría sentir en una situación así.

Every scene is excellent, maintaining the style of the era, and is accompanied by a bit of music, which adds emotion and keeps the pace calm—evenly measured—yet it all makes sense. The film also places a strong emphasis on that pain, which is something that will always remain and cannot be resolved quickly. The story doesn’t rush through this evolution and takes the time to show how each character deals with that void in a different way, demonstrating that everyone is unique. Starting with Agnes, who experiences grief on an emotional, deeply personal level. On the other hand, William seems more distant, more focused on moving forward, even though that too carries its own weight and the memory haunts him.

One of the film’s strongest and most interesting aspects is precisely that contrast—the different ways of viewing life and the new opportunities that can emerge from something bad. There is no “right” way to feel, and this production makes that clear without needing to explain it too much. Every gesture, every silence, speaks louder than any long dialogue.

Cada escena muy buena manteniendo ese estilo de la época, además lo acompaña un poco de parte musical y de esa manera poder darle emoción y conseguir que el ritmo es tranquilo, incluso pausado, pero tiene sentido, además hacen mucho énfasis en ese dolor y es algo que siempre quedará y no se resuelve rápido. La historia va no atrancó toda esa evolución y se toma el tiempo para mostrar cómo cada personaje enfrenta ese vacío de manera distinta y se muestra que cada persona es distinta. Comenzando desde Agnes vive el duelo desde lo emocional, desde lo profundo. Por el otro, William parece más distante, más enfocado en seguir adelante, aunque eso también tenga su propio peso y el recuerdo lo persiga.

Uno de los puntos más fuertes e interesantes de la película es justamente ese contraste, la manera de como ver la vida y las nuevas oportunidades que puede llegar a salir de algo malo y no hay una forma correcta de sentir y esta producción lo deja claro sin necesidad de explicarlo demasiado. Cada gesto, cada silencio, dice más que cualquier diálogo largo.

It’s a very interesting story, and you can really tell the effort that went into recreating something of this caliber and showing how pain can be transformed into something else. How, in some cases, the most difficult emotions eventually find an outlet through art, because life goes on. In the end, Hamnet doesn’t try to give you answers, but rather leaves you thinking—about loss, about time, and about what we do with all of that when we have to move forward.

Es una historia muy interesante y se nota el esfuerzo colocado para así poder recrear algo de este nivel y poder mostrar cómo el dolor puede transformarse en algo más. Cómo, en algunos casos, las emociones más difíciles terminan encontrando salida a través del arte, ya que la vida sigue. Al final, Hamnet no intenta darte respuestas, sino dejarte pensando, sobre la pérdida, sobre el tiempo y sobre lo que hacemos con todo eso cuando nos toca seguir adelante.
