This year has seen the release of a large number of films that have set the bar high, as well as others that have continued that trend to bring the story to a close, yet still leave the impression that another installment will be released someday. That’s what happened with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which arrives as a film years after the famous series; in this new installment, silence carries far more weight than a single bullet.

The film aims to maintain that essence, and perhaps from the very beginning it can feel repetitive, and you can imagine what might happen next, since there’s no rush—it lacks the adrenaline of the series, which set it apart. However, here everything moves very differently: slower, with more tension, and that gives it a unique touch, especially given what Tommy Shelby has been through. Even so, it stands as a solid film within the genre.

Este año se han estrenado una gran cantidad de películas que han dejado un alto nivel, como otras que aún continuado con ese secuencia para así poder darle fin a la historia, pero que aún dejan una sensación de que algún día se estrenará otra parte. Eso paso con la producción Peaky Blinders: El hombre inmortal, que llega como película años después de la famosa serie, la cual aquí en esta nueva parte el silencio pesa mucho más que uno bala.

La producción busca mantener esa esencia y quizás desde el primer momento se puede llegar a sentir repetitiva y uno se imagina como puede ser lo que pasará, ya que no hay prisa, no está esta adrenalina de la serie, la cual marcaron la diferencia. Sin embargo aquí todo se mueve muy distinto más lento, más tensión y eso le da un toque y sobre todo lo que Tommy Shelby ha vivido, aun así sirve como una buena película del género.

The film undergoes a significant transformation from start to finish, as it seeks to delve a little deeper into Tommy’s world with every action and decision, making the whole experience feel more personal; yet the film works and allows the viewer to connect more deeply. Another strong point is the music, which remains powerful, accompanying moments of both sadness and joy.

This may be a return that perhaps wasn’t necessary, yet the protagonist returns as a weary man—a man who has survived too many moments of crisis and who must face life after war, lending the story that touch of sadness.

The scenes are very well crafted and feel very real, maintaining the essence of the era and balancing every moment each of the film’s characters must go through—and that is the essence of this entire great production. Furthermore, the characters also know how to make the most of every opportunity, when to appear and when to disappear. Because this is not the story of the Peaky Blinders, it is the story of what remains of them.

La producción cuenta con un gran cambio desde inicio a fin, puesto que busca explorar un poco más a Tommy en cada movimiento, decisión y eso hace que todo se sienta más personal, sin embargo, la película funciona y permite que uno conecte más. Como también otro punto fuerte es la música y sigue siendo poderosa, ya que acompaña en momentos de tristeza y de felicidad.

Este puede ser un regreso que quizás no hacía falta, aun así el protagonista vuelve como un hombre cansado, un hombre que ha sobrevivido demasiado a momentos de límite y como es tener que enfrentar la vida después de una guerra, para así poder darle ese toque de tristeza.

Las escenas están muy bien trabajadas y se siente muy real, manteniendo la esencia de la época y equilibra cada momento que tenga que pasar cada uno de los personajes de la película y esa es la esencia de todo esta gran producción. Además, los personajes también saben cómo aprovechar cada oportunidad, cuando aparecer y desaparecer. Porque esta no es la historia de los Peaky Blinders, es la historia de lo que queda de ellos.

I really liked the outcome of this new Peaky Blinders production, The Immortal Man, as it serves as a farewell and wraps up in a different way—it’s much quieter, more reflective, and at the same time more human, which is its greatest strength, as if it were the beginning of something big rather than the end. Even so, it’s a film worth watching, allowing you to continue enjoying a story that made a difference in the world of war, and this one is the perfect example to show you that not everything is about fighting.

Me gusto mucho el resultado de esta nueva producción de los Peaky Blinders: El hombre inmortal, ya que funciona como una despedida y cierra distinto, puesto que es mucho más silenciosa, más reflexiva y a la vez más humana, siendo su mayor acierto, como si fuera el comienzo más bien de algo grande y no el cierre. Aun así es una película que vale la pena verla, seguir disfrutando de una historia que marcó la diferencia en el mundo de la guerra y esta es la indica para enseñarte que no todo se trata de pelear.
