That's why Scream 7 arrives to continue that experience and, at the same time, a tradition for each of the films they have released, where it is almost a ritual to watch every time the Ghostface mask appears and we ask ourselves again, “Who is behind it?” And yet, after seven films, this saga is still going strong, continuing to scare us, collect favors, and at the same time leading us to wonder, “Who will be the new victim?”

Y aun así, después de siete películas, esta saga sigue activa, para continuar asustando, cobrar favores y a la vez nos lleva a saber ¿Quién será la nueva víctima?

I was very surprised to learn that they were going to release another film, and the great thing about this production is that it knows how to play with each element, each death, which keeps the viewer engaged and allows them to form a strong emotional connection with the franchise. It also works perfectly because it connects directly with those who grew up watching these stories and each film, allowing them to continue creating great memories, even though it sometimes relies too much on the memory of what was, rather than taking risks to build something truly new. That's why the tension builds with every second of this new film, and there will be those who don't understand anything, parts that are very predictable, yet there will be those who celebrate it for being consistent with the spirit of the saga.

Me sorprendió mucho al saber que iban a sacar otra película y lo bueno de esta producción es que sabe como jugar con cada elemento, cada muerte y eso permite que el espectador siga atento y permite crear una gran relación emocional con la franquicia. Además, sirve perfectamente, porque conecta directamente con quienes crecieron viendo estas historias y cada película y así poder seguir creando muy buenos recuerdos, a pesar de que a veces se apoya demasiado en el recuerdo de lo que fue, en lugar de arriesgarse a construir algo verdaderamente nuevo. Por eso cada segundo de esta nueva película la tensión va aumentando y habrá quienes no entenderán nada, partes muy predecibles, aun así habrá quienes lo celebren por coherente con el espíritu de la saga.

In addition, Scream 7 always seeks to shock, and it succeeds in doing so at various moments, simply by showing new things, beyond maintaining the pace, intensity, and every moment that makes the saga one of the greatest slasher films of recent times.

The big surprise for this new installment is the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, who appeared in one of the first films and brought great life and emotion to her character. That's why here, once again, she gives the story a weight that had been diluted a bit in the more recent installments. Sidney is no longer just the survivor marked by the past; here she feels more human, with new responsibilities and more aware of the fear of living with someone who wears a mask and kills. This touch gives the film a more personal tone, and although it doesn't always manage to deliver on all its promises, it is enjoyable and one of the best characters.

Con cada película que han sacado se puede notar una gran evolución, destacando cada escena terror, ya que la tensión crece, hay persecuciones bien construidas y las respectivas muertes que hacen que la película resalte. Además, Scream 7 siempre busca impactar y lo consigue en varios momentos, por el mismo hecho de mostrar cosas nuevas, más allá de poder mantener el ritmo, la intensidad, y cada momento que permite que la saga sea un gran slasher de los últimos tiempos.

La gran sorpresa para esta nueva parte es carta es el regreso de Neve Campbell como Sidney Prescott, donde salió en una de las primeras y le dio una gran vida y emoción a su personaje. Por eso aquí una vez más le devuelve a la historia un peso que se había diluido un poco en las entregas más recientes. Sidney ya no es solo la sobreviviente marcada por el pasado; aquí se siente más humana, nuevas responsabilidades, más consciente del miedo que es vivir con alguien que tiene una máscara y va matando. Ese toque le da a la película un tono más personal, aunque no siempre logra profundizar todo lo que promete, se puede disfrutar y es uno de los mejores personajes.

I liked the result of Scream 7 again, as it brings back many memories and is an entertaining, intense production that stays true to its essence. It doesn't reinvent the formula, but it doesn't betray it either. It's a film that understands the legacy it carries and combines past and present. Although it doesn't always hit the mark, it allows the story to move forward. That's why we won't know if this is the end or the beginning, because as long as the mask exists and the phone keeps ringing, it's hard not to want to come back.

Me gusto nuevamente el resultado de Scream 7, ya que revive muchos recuerdos y es una producción entretenida, intensa y fiel a su esencia. No reinventa la fórmula, pero tampoco la traiciona. Es una película que entiende el legado que carga y que combina pasado y presente, aunque no siempre encuentre el punto exacto, permite que avance. Por eso es una producción que no sabremos si esta es su final o su inicio, ya que mientras exista la máscara y el teléfono vuelva a sonar, es difícil no querer regresar.
