There are movies that aim to surprise us right from the start with something we’ve never seen before, and that’s where the director really comes into his own, taking the story far enough that we, as viewers, are left completely satisfied. That’s where The End of Oak Street comes in: what starts as an ordinary day in a family-friendly neighborhood turns into a complete disaster when the protagonist is transported to a completely unknown world, surrounded by dinosaurs. It’s a unique story that surely has much more to offer, making the film entertaining, full of challenges, and above all, a place where perhaps no one would be prepared for what lies ahead.

The story takes us to Oak Street, a well-known place that I hope to visit someday—but imagine if it were transformed into a place where strange things happen. That certainly wouldn’t be pleasant, especially since there are no rules and everyone does whatever they want. This makes for a successful concept, since you’ll never see a dinosaur in a neighborhood—and from that point on, every second becomes much more exciting, because everyone has to learn to survive, protect their families, and, above all, figure out exactly what happened. This leads us to wonder: How long will they be in this situation? Will they have food?

Hay películas que buscan sorprendernos desde un inicio con algo que jamás he visto y es allí donde el director logra tomar más fuerza y poder llegar muy lejos hasta que uno como espectador quede totalmente satisfecho. Por eso llega El final de Oak Street donde un simple día en un vecindario lleno de familia, termina siendo todo un desastre al ser transportado a un mundo completamente desconocido, rodeado de dinosaurios, siendo una historia única y que seguramente tiene mucho más para ofrecer, logrando así que la película sea entretenida, llena de desafíos y sobre todo un lugar donde quizás nadie estaría preparado.

La historia nos lleva hasta Oak Street, un lugar muy reconocido, donde espero algún día poder visitarlo, pero cambiarlo a un sitio donde ocurren cosas extraña, eso si no sería nada agradable y sobre todo donde las reglas no existen y cada quien hace lo que quiera. Logrando que sea una idea exitosa, ya que uno nunca verá un dinosaurio en un vecindario, donde a partir de eso cada segundo se vuelve mucho más divertida, porque todos tienen que aprender a sobrevivir, proteger a sus familias y sobre todo descubrir qué fue exactamente lo que ocurrió, lo cual nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Cuánto tiempo estarán en esa situación? ¿Tendrán comida?

Each scene is very well crafted, and even though they all take place in that city, they’re packed with action while also showing us that, as people, we need to appreciate things, since we never know what might happen tomorrow. There are also many other excellent moments, particularly when the film focuses on its characters; since they’re a large family, each member faces their own problems—such as fear, differences, and difficult decisions—while also learning to work together to move forward.

Another issue is that while the premise may be unique, many plot threads remain unresolved by the end of the film—a major flaw that starts with the unexplained nature of the phenomenon itself. Nevertheless, it’s a distinctive adventure that surprises us and takes us to a place where anything can happen. But beyond solving a case, it’s also about trying to reclaim a part of their lives they thought they’d never lose.

Cada una de las escenas están muy bien trabajadas a y a pesar de todas prácticamente en esa ciudad, están cargadas de acción y a la vez para demostrarnos que como persona tenemos que valorar las cosas, ya que uno no sabe qué pueda ocurrir mañana. E incluso muchos otros momentos que son muy buenos y es cuando se concentra en sus personajes, puesto que al ser una gran familia cada uno enfrenta sus propios problemas, como el miedo, las diferencias y las decisiones, como también poder trabajar juntos para así poder avanzar.

Otras de las cosas es que puede ser una idea única, pero en el tiempo de película quedan muchas cosas sin resolver, siendo una gran falla comenzando desde como ocurrió ese fenómeno. Sin embargo, es una aventura distinta que nos sorprende y nos lleva a un lugar donde cualquier cosa puede suceder. Pero más allá de resolver un caso también es intentar recuperar una parte de sus vidas que creían que nunca iban a perder.

I liked the movie The End of Oak Street because it’s entertaining, has an original premise, and features an adventure that keeps us engaged—plus, it’s a nod to the dinosaur movies that continue to feature them. It’s a straightforward story that lets us get carried away by the idea of imagining what we’d do if our own street disappeared and we ended up surrounded by dinosaurs. So if you’re looking for something different, this movie is for you.

Me gusto esa película El final de Oak Street, puesto que es entretenida, una idea original y con una aventura para mantenernos interesados, además una referencia para las películas de dinosaurios que siguen mostrándolos. Por eso una historia sin complicación, sino dejándonos llevar por la idea de imaginar qué haríamos nosotros si nuestra propia calle desapareciera y termináramos rodeados de dinosaurios. Por eso si buscas algo distinto esta película será para ti.
