New releases from great directors continue to arrive, allowing them to showcase their talent and set themselves apart from other existing productions. Although they won't change cinema, many of them are worth watching. That's why The Wrecking Crew was recently released, something totally different and very good, without any deep speeches; just muscle, awkward jokes, and an energy that feels good, but can end in chaos, and that's where it finds its charm by combining each of these elements.

It's one of those stories where action, madness, and adventure are present from start to finish. It all begins with two brothers who barely know each other, united more by blood than by affection, forced to work together when the past reappears in the worst possible way. This is where the adventure begins as they face a reality that seems tougher than they are. This creates a mixture of direct action, humor, and a constant tension that does not always come from the villains, but from the clash between two personalities who never learned to get along. Even though they are brothers, each has his own way of thinking and seeing things.

Siguen llegando nuevos estrenos de grandes directores para así poder llevar su talento a la cima y a la vez poder marcar una diferencia de las demás producciones que ya existen, a pesar de que no van a cambiar el cine, muchas de ellas valen la pena verla. Por eso hace poco se estrenó The Wrecking Crew, algo totalmente distinto y llega con algo muy bueno, sin discursos profundos; simplemente usar músculos, bromas incómodas y una energía que se siente bien, pero puede terminar en un caos y ahí es donde encuentra su encanto al combinar cada uno de esos elementos.

Es una de esas historias donde la acción, la locura y la aventura siempre estarán de inicio a fin, además todo comienza con dos hermanos que apenas se conocen, unidos más por la sangre que por el afecto, obligados a trabajar juntos cuando el pasado reaparece de la peor manera y es aquí donde la aventura comienza al enfrentar una realidad que parece más ruda qué ellos. Para así poder conseguir y crear una mezcla de acción directa, humor y ese tipo de tensión constante que no siempre viene de los villanos, sino del choque entre dos personalidades que nunca aprendieron a convivir y por más que sean hermanos cada uno tiene una forma de pensar y ver las cosas.

Each scene is very well crafted and has that element of surprise, as it doesn't seek memorable shots or refined aesthetics; it simply unfolds at a good pace, with constant movement and the feeling that something could happen at any moment, just when you least expect it. There are also other elements that are predictable and formulaic, like in the director's other films, but they work well here. In addition, the visual effects also play a big role here and add value, allowing the viewer to get carried away by a narrative that moves forward with action and quick jokes.

The strong point of this installment is the presence of two great actors, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista, who do not try to be anything other than what they are: simply showing their character and very different charisma. Although one is more impulsive and the other more rigid, both know how to carry the pace of the film, supporting each other, and the interesting thing is that, between explosions, there are small moments of silence that say more than the blows. It is not an emotional film, but it is not completely empty either.

Cada una de las escenas están muy bien trabajas y cumplen con ese toque de sorprender, puesto que no busca planos memorables ni una estética refinada; simplemente se va desarrollando con un buen ritmo, un movimiento constante y esa sensación de que podrá pasar algo en el momento menos esperado, como también hay otras cosas que si sin predecibles y fórmulas del director en otras películas, pero que lograron resultar bien. Además, los efectos visuales también juegan un gran papel aquí y le aporta valor para así dejarse llevar por una narrativa que avanza a base de acción y bromas rápidas.

El punto fuerte de esta entrega es la presencia de dos grandes actores como Jason Momoa y Dave Bautista, donde no intentan ser otra cosa que lo que son: simplemente mostrar ese carácter y con un carisma muy distinto. A pesar de que uno es más impulsivo, el otro más rígido, ambos saben llevar todo el ritmo de la película, se apoyan y lo interesante es que, entre explosión y explosión, deja asomar pequeños silencios que dicen más que los golpes. No es una cinta emocional, pero tampoco es completamente vacía.

In the end, The Wrecking Crew is a great film that exceeded all expectations and, above all, managed to present something different, where it works like those awkward conversations between siblings who never said enough to each other: it doesn't solve everything, it doesn't heal all wounds, but it leaves you with the feeling that something has changed, and that siblings will always be together until the end, and here it proves it. Although there are times when this is not ideal for an action movie, here it was the most anticipated and exciting part.

Al final, The Wrecking Crew, es una gran película que superó todas las expectativas y sobre todo poder presentar algo distinto, donde funciona como esas conversaciones incómodas entre hermanos que nunca se dijeron lo suficiente: no resuelve todo, no cierra todas las heridas, pero deja la sensación de que algo se movió, además los hermanos siempre van a estar juntos hasta el final y aquí lo demuestra. Aunque hay veces, que para una película de acción no es lo ideal, aquí fue lo más esperado y lo más emocionante.
