Many films have been successful, and when they announce that a sequel is coming out, it's very exciting, but there's always the question of whether it will be good or bad. However, after many years of waiting, Tron: Ares arrives, that universe that never completely disappeared and remained there with a dark past. Since the first installment, Tron has always been more than neon lights and digital worlds: it has been a reflection on identity, technology, and the increasingly blurred line between the human and the artificial, which marked a major breakthrough in many productions for the year it was released. Therefore, this new film not only revisits that essence, but also updates it for an era where we no longer imagine the digital future, but live it every day, with all the technology that has been developed.

This new installment has more conflicts and, above all, the knowledge that it is possible to have control over everything. That is why the story is much more advanced and leads us to ask ourselves: what happens when programs no longer want to obey? When does what has been created begin to spiral out of control due to so much power? Therefore, the narrative progresses at a rather complex pace, and we are immersed in this technological world, which, however, is full of cracks and flaws on the inside.

Muchas películas han sido un éxito y cuando mencionan que van a sacar una segunda parte es muy emocionante, pero siempre estaré la duda de que si será buena o mala. Sin embargo luego de muchos años de espera, llega Tron: Ares ese universo que nunca se fue del todo y quedó allí con un pasado oscuro. Desde la primera entrega Tron siempre ha sido más que luces de neón y mundos digitales: ha sido una reflexión sobre la identidad, la tecnología y ese límite cada vez más borroso entre lo humano y lo artificial, la cual marcó un gran avance en muchas producciones para ese año que se estrenó. Por ende en esta nueva película no solo retoma esa esencia, sino que la actualiza para una época donde ya no imaginamos el futuro digital, sino que lo vivimos a diario, con toda esa tecnología que han desarrollado.

Esta nueva parte tiene más conflictos y sobre todo saber que se puede llegar a tener el control de todo y por eso la historia sigue mucho más avanzada y nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿qué ocurre cuando los programas ya no quieren obedecer?, ¿cuándo lo creado empieza a salir de control por tanto poder?, por lo tanto, la narrativa avanza con un ritmo bastante complejo y nos sumergimos en ese mundo tecnológico, pero que por dentro, está lleno de grietas y fallas.

Each scene seems designed to remind us that, even though everything shines, nothing is truly free, especially when we are being led by machines and artificial intelligence. Another thing that adds value to the film is the music. It may seem strange, but it accompanies each battle and each decision with precision, even in the quietest moments.

The film seeks to introduce us to many things that will surely be part of everyday life in the future, but beyond that, the film focuses on its central conflict: the struggle to define what it means to exist and what kind of world one would like to be in. Tron Ares, beyond being a name, is a symbol of a technology that is no longer content with executing orders, but seeks purpose, to surpass and do what technology wants. And that is where the film connects with the viewer, because there is that dilemma, and for that to be possible, human beings play an important role.

Esta nueva parte súpero a la primera de una manera muy grande y es aquí donde el uso de los equipos, la tecnología, los colores y las estructuras digitales no están ahí solo para impresionar, sino para reforzar la sensación de control, la cual permite que sea mucho más realista. Cada escenario parece diseñado para recordarnos que, aunque todo brille, nada es realmente libre y más aún donde nos estamos dejando llevar por las máquinas y la inteligencia artificial. Otras de las cosas que le aporta valor a la misma es la música y parece extraño, sin embargo, acompaña de manera precisa, cada batalla, cada decisión que envuelve incluso en los momentos más silenciosos.

La película buscar presentarnos muchas cosas que seguramente en un futuro ya serán parte del uso diario, pero más allá de eso la película está en su conflicto central: la lucha por definir qué significa existir y en qué mundo uno quisiera estar. Puesto que Tron Ares, más allá de ser un nombre, es un símbolo de una tecnología que ya no se conforma con ejecutar órdenes, sino que busca propósito, sobrepasar y hacer lo que la tecnología quiera. Y ahí es donde la película conecta con el espectador, porque está ese dilema y para que eso fuera posible el ser humano juega un papel importante.

It was a great result and worth the wait, as it is not a film designed solely for nostalgia, to continue the adventure, but rather a call to action to look at the past and ask ourselves where we are going, how technology will continue to impact us. Therefore, it is a film that does not provide all the answers, but leaves us with an unsettling feeling: perhaps the system no longer needs us to turn it on because it never turned off.

Fue un gran resultado y valió la pena toda esa espera, ya que no es una cinta pensada únicamente para la nostalgia, para seguir con la aventura, si no más bien un llamado de acción de mirar el pasado y preguntarnos hacia dónde vamos, como seguirá impactando la tecnología. Por ende es una película que no da todas las respuestas, pero deja una sensación inquietante: tal vez el sistema ya no necesita que lo encendamos porque nunca se apagó.
