I discovered this film and noticed it was well-received by the majority of the public and since it certainly looked like a very original production, I decided to watch it to see what it was all about.
The story is about a Chinese woman in her 50s played by the actress Michelle Yeoh. She owns a laundromat, and her personal life seems to be a bit chaotic. She takes care of her dad, she has a daughter who is of college age, and her husband doesn't seem to be a very competitive or organized man, he is very gentle though and a very nice guy. This is why she always seems to be rushed and maybe even a bit overwhelmed by her many responsibilities and obligations she needs to attend on a constant basis.
She is the pillar of her family and does her best in holding the weight and making sure everything works properly. I kind of noticed she might have been growing apart from her daughter and this could be the cause of some tension in the family's dynamic.
The film, out of nowhere, begins to get crazy in a very weird and hard-to-explain way. She is just doing an errand with her family, and a strange moment will take place that will leave her as well as the viewers in a very puzzled state.
She is just a regular woman with no special abilities whatsoever, there is nothing especially interesting about her but despite all of this, she somehow becomes part of a very special initiative, or I guess it could be called a special mission, that could very well be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is something that superheroes usually do, and what makes this film interesting is to see normal people doing incredible things and solving problems that could blow the mind of a regular person.
Descubrí esta película y noté que fue bien recibida por la mayoría del público y como ciertamente parecía una producción muy original, decidí verla para ver de qué se trataba.
La historia trata sobre una mujer china de unos 50 años interpretada por la actriz Michelle Yeoh. Ella es dueña de una lavandería, y su vida personal parece ser un poco caótica. Ella cuida de su padre, tiene una hija que está en edad universitaria, y su esposo no parece ser un hombre muy competitivo u organizado, pero es muy gentil y un tipo muy agradable. Es por eso que siempre parece estar apresurada y tal vez incluso un poco abrumada por sus muchas responsabilidades y obligaciones que necesita atender constantemente.
Ella es el pilar de su familia y hace todo lo posible para sostener el peso y asegurarse de que todo funcione correctamente. Me di cuenta de que podría haber estado alejandose de su hija y esto podría ser la causa de cierta tensión en la dinámica de la familia.
La película, de la nada, comienza a volverse loca de una manera muy extraña y difícil de explicar. Ella solo está haciendo una diligencia con su familia, y de repente hay momento extraño que la dejará a ella y a los espectadores del film en un estado muy perplejo.
Ella es solo una mujer normal sin habilidades especiales en absoluto, no hay nada especialmente interesante en ella, pero a pesar de todo esto, de alguna manera se convierte en parte de una iniciativa muy especial, o supongo que podría llamarse una misión especial, que bien podría ser parte del Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel. Es algo que los superhéroes suelen hacer, y lo que hace que esta película sea interesante es ver a personas normales haciendo cosas increíbles y resolviendo problemas que podrían volar la mente de una persona normal.
The problem she is forced to face belongs to the scifi genre, it is sort of a manifestation of chaos, that threatens to affect everything that exists. The nature of the threat when it is first explained in the film is very abstract but what's cool is the methods the characters use to try to find a solution to this threat.
I am sure most people have sometimes wondered about what would they be if they have taken different decisions, what would their alternative versions look like, and what different skills could these alternative versions have. What would have happened if you have chosen a different career or even a different life partner. These are questions very common in a lot of people's minds but it is impossible to properly answer them.
This topic is part of the craziness we can find in the film, with the addition that some funny silliness is also added into the mix to make everything weirder and sometimes funnier.
The movie is much better than many superhero productions out there where the characters also attempt to accomplish a super crazy mission and obviously succeed. I am not saying the film is better than Endgame for example, but for me, it was surely much better than Venom or the Black Widow films even though those 2 have characters with real superpowers.
The identity of the villain came as a surprise for me, I wasn't expecting it but what I really enjoyed was seeing how this evil character could use her power to manipulate pretty much everything. If you ever wondered how an immature and childish god-like being would behave, it would probably be similar to this film's villain. This person has been consumed by nihilism and has taken this line of thought to the most extreme version we can think of.
El problema que se ve obligada a enfrentar pertenece al género de ciencia ficción, es una especie de manifestación de caos, que amenaza con afectar todo lo que existe. La naturaleza de la amenaza cuando se explica por primera vez en la película es muy abstracta, pero lo que es genial son los métodos que los personajes utilizan para tratar de encontrar una solución a esta amenaza.
Estoy seguro de que la mayoría de las personas a veces se han preguntado qué serían si hubieran tomado decisiones diferentes, cómo serían sus versiones alternativas y qué habilidades diferentes podrían tener estas versiones alternativas. ¿Qué habría pasado si hubieras elegido una carrera diferente o incluso un compañero de vida diferente? Estas son preguntas muy comunes en la mente de muchas personas, pero es imposible responderlas adecuadamente.
Este tema es parte de la locura que podemos encontrar en la película, con el agregado de que también se agrega alguna tontería divertida a la mezcla para hacer que todo sea más extraño y, a veces, más divertido.
La película es mucho mejor que muchas producciones de superhéroes donde los personajes también intentan cumplir una misión súper loca y obviamente tienen éxito. No estoy diciendo que la película sea mejor que Endgame, por ejemplo, pero para mí, seguramente fue mucho mejor que Venom o las películas de Black Widow a pesar de que esas 2 tienen personajes con superpoderes reales.
La identidad del villano fue una sorpresa para mí, no me lo esperaba, pero lo que realmente disfruté fue ver cómo este personaje malvado podía usar su poder para manipular casi todo. Si alguna vez te preguntaste cómo se comportaría un ser inmaduro e infantil parecido a un dios, probablemente sería similar al villano de esta película. Esta persona ha sido consumida por el nihilismo y ha llevado esta línea de pensamiento a la versión más extrema que se nos ocurra.
Despite the chaotic storyline, it isn't hard to follow as long as you don't stop paying attention to the film. Even though there are a few complexities in the story that I prefer not to mention, the film doesn't get too deep into them, which results in a simple plot that might look disorganized but is mostly just weird.
I suspect the writers of the story had to try out some hallucinogens while creating this story because I don't know how a person in their normal state could be able to write so much weirdness, and the best part is that it was actually enjoyable and funny at times. It was a terrific creative experiment that has the potential in becoming a cult film.
If you want an example of how weird the film gets, the fact it includes a conversation between 2 rocks should be telling enough. The type of craziness in this film reminded me of the movie called Sorry to Bother You, due to how difficult it would be to explain to plot to a person who knows nothing about it.
The psychological development of the supposed villain had some similarities to the character in the episode of Love, Death and Robots called Zima Blue. When you can be everywhere, when you know everything, what's left? What's next? Maybe that's it? You passed the game of life? What's the ultimate frontier? Is it worth reaching it? What happens after you do? These are questions that were surely thrown around in the mind of this villain.
Final thoughts
This is the craziest movie I have seen all year, it has comedy, action, scifi, and a bunch of weirdness that many people would love thanks to its many WTF moments. The creators were really audatious in producing this story, but I think they could have been even more audatious with the ending, which felt somewhat generic and unsurprising.
A pesar de la caótica historia, no es difícil de seguir siempre y cuando no dejes de prestar atención a la película. A pesar de que hay algunas complejidades en la historia que prefiero no mencionar, la película no profundiza demasiado en ellas, lo que resulta en una trama simple que puede parecer desorganizada, pero en su mayoría es simplemente extraña.
Sospecho que los escritores de la historia tuvieron que probar algunos alucinógenos mientras creaban esta historia porque no sé cómo una persona en su estado normal podría ser capaz de escribir tanta rareza, y la mejor parte es que fue realmente dsifrutable y divertido a veces. Fue un excelente experimento creativo que tiene el potencial de convertirse en una película de culto.
Si quieres un ejemplo de lo extraña que se vuelve la película, el hecho de que incluya una conversación entre 2 rocas debería ser lo suficientemente revelador. El tipo de locura en esta película me recordó a la película llamada Sorry to Bother You, debido a lo difícil que sería explicar la trama a una persona que no sabe nada al respecto.
El desarrollo psicológico del supuesto villano tenía algunas similitudes con el personaje del episodio de Love, Death and Robots llamado Zima Blue. Cuando puedes estar en todas partes, cuando sabes todo, ¿qué queda? ¿Qué sigue? ¿Tal vez eso es todo? ¿Te pasaste el juego de la vida? ¿Cuál es la última frontera? ¿Merece la pena alcanzarla? ¿Qué sucede después de hacerlo? Estas son preguntas que seguramente fueron discutidas en la mente de este villano.
Reflexiones finales
Esta es la película más loca que he visto en todo el año, tiene comedia, acción, ciencia ficción y un montón de rarezas que a mucha gente le encantará gracias a sus muchos momentos WTF. Los creadores fueron realmente audaces en la producción de esta historia, pero creo que podrían haber sido aún más audaces con el final, que se sintió algo genérico y no muy sorprendente.

Esta película me pareció tan buena que la podría volver a ver sin problemas. Siento que fue muy sorpresivo la forma en como manejaron el tema del multiverso, recuerdo que la vi más o menos en la época de la última de Doctor Strange y me cuestioné cual me había gustado más, guardando las distancias y entiendo las diferencias entre una y otra.
Es muy disfrutable y recomendable esta película.

Yo creo que la voy a ver de nuevo después de un tiempo, igual que tú pienso que es de esos films que valen la pena ver más de una vez. Creo que puede ser mejor que la de Doctor Strange dependiendo del gusto de cada quien, sin duda le puede competir.

Unos de mis pendientes más grandes que aún no me atrevo a ver, no pude dejar de detenerme a leer tu reseña, porque e dejado por decirlo de una manera, envenenar mi criterio con tantas opiniones divididas, y ver la puntuación que le diste en tu imagen principal me llamo la atención.
Todos hablan de que fue abordado el tema del multiversos cómo debe ser, veo que tú única crítica está en la falta de audacia en el final, pero que el desarrollo es muy bueno y un tanto loco, creo que me animaré a darle la oportunidad.
Bro vela cuando puedas, esta peli no deja indiferente a nadie, y seguro cuando escribas tu review tendrás muchas cosas que contar. Creo que deberías ponerla en el tope de la lista de producciones que tienes por ver, así de especial es.

He visto que han publicado muchísimas reviews de esta película, pero no había querido leer ninguna porque quería verla y fue solo por el poster todo loco que ví y es que yo soy de las que me dejo llevar por eso para decidir ver películas 🙃, pero después de ver tu review certifico que ya sé que veré este fin de semana para despejar la mente.
Pd. Que risa con lo de las rocas y los alucinógenos de los creadores, tengo una lista de pelis donde estoy 150% segura de que los tipos fuman hongos 😅😅😅😅

Una de las mejores películas del año. Esta película hecha con menos dinero le da mil vueltas las películas de Marvel con Multiversos.
Esto si es un multiverso de locura, bien ejecutado visualmente, con creatividad.
hay escenas delirantes, es que solo recordarlas me hacen reír, todo lo que tiene que hacer para poder pasar entre los multiversos, las coreografías de pelas. La disfrute mucho y pienso verla nuevamente antes de que termine el año-
Pienso igual bro, este film es algo especial, es lo opuesto a una producción genérica. Mucho mejor que muchas pelis normales de súper héroes, es que no hay comparación de verdad. Este multiverso si es caótico de verdad.
Yo igual pienso verla otra vez, quizás cuando llegue Diciembre que espero tener más tiempo libre. 😅

Amo esta película, trato de verla al menos 1 vez al mes, a veces la veo cada dos semanas. Waymond es todo lo que está bien en el mundo. Es simplemente espectacular.

Coincido con que la película es super alocada y tiene de todo, es una gran experiencia visual, emocional y mental. Y también estoy de acuerdo con que el final es bastante convencional; sin embargo no sabría decirte qué le faltó.
