Initiative: My 3 favorite anime openings (ENG + ESP)

A few days ago while I was reading some Hive posts, I found this cool initiative from @lqch that consisted of remembering your favorite anime openings and share them with the community. When I was younger, the main anime I watched was Dragon Ball Z although I also watched Yu-Gi-Oh! for a while and even bought a lot of its cards.

However, it was when I became a little older that I began to watch other animes, mainly with scifi/thriller plots, and from that point onward I became a true fan of this genre. I have watched several anime series in the last few years, and most of them have been very enjoyable experiences. Of all the animes I have watched, these are my 3 favorite openings.

Hace unos días mientras leía algunas publicaciones de Hive, encontré esta genial iniciativa de @lqch que consistía en recordar tus aperturas de anime favoritas y compartirlas con la comunidad. Cuando era más joven, el anime principal que veía era Dragon Ball Z, aunque también vi Yu-Gi-Oh! durante un tiempo e incluso pude comprar muchas de sus cartas.

Sin embargo, fue cuando me hice un poco mayor que comencé a ver otros animes, principalmente con tramas de ciencia ficción/suspenso, y desde ese momento en adelante me convertí en un verdadero fanático de este género. He visto varias series de anime en los últimos años y la mayoría de ellas han sido experiencias muy agradables. De todos los animes que he visto, estas son mis 3 aperturas favoritas.

Dragon Ball Z has a vast story that begins when Goku's older son Gohan is just a little kid and ends with Gohan being an adult. Therefore, it has 2 openings, in the first one Goku looks younger, Gohan is just this little kid, and Trunks is an adult from the future. In the second opening, which is the one I like the most, we have an adult Gohan, and we can also see his younger brother Goten who is just a little kid and looks like a clone of his father, as well as the slightly older little kid Trunk who is the son of Vegetta and does belong to this timeline. This opening has fun lyrics and even to this day I still remember them all. By the way, the lyrics is in Spanish because it is from the dubbed version.

Dragon Ball Z was the only Dragon Ball series that I watched, I didn't watch Dragon Ball (without the Z), and the same can be said about the different sequels such as Dragon Ball GT. What I have watched are several movies throughout the years and they have been great. Back in these early days, a super Saiyan was a big deal, especially a super Saiyan level 3 with that spectacular long hair, but nowadays in the new Dragon Ball series I have read that the creators introduced a bunch of new different super Saiyan levels and I think the uniqueness of this special state has been lost. Either way, this was an extremely fun anime and one of my favorites of all time.

Dragon Ball Z tiene una vasta historia que comienza cuando el hijo mayor de Goku, Gohan, es solo un niño pequeño y termina con Gohan siendo un adulto. Por lo tanto, tiene 2 aperturas, en la primera Goku parece más joven, Gohan es solo un niño pequeño y Trunks es un adulto del futuro. En la segunda apertura, que es la que más me gusta, tenemos a un Gohan adulto, y también podemos ver a su hermano menor Goten que es solo un niño pequeño y parece un clon de su padre, así como el pequeño Trunk que es un poco mayor que Goten y es el hijo de Vegetta y sí pertenece a esta línea de tiempo. Esta apertura tiene letras divertidas e incluso hasta el día de hoy todavía las recuerdo bien. Por cierto, la letra está en español porque es de la versión doblada.

Dragon Ball Z fue la única serie de Dragon Ball que vi, no vi Dragon Ball (sin la Z), y lo mismo se puede decir de las diferentes secuelas como Dragon Ball GT. Lo que he visto son varias películas a lo largo de los años y han sido geniales. En esos primeros días, un super Saiyan era algo important, especialmente un super Saiyan de nivel 3 con ese espectacular cabello largo, pero hoy en día, en la nueva serie Dragon Ball, he leído que los creadores han introducido un montón de nuevos niveles diferentes de super Saiyan y Creo que se ha perdido la singularidad de este estado especial. De cualquier manera, este fue un anime extremadamente divertido y uno de mis favoritos de todos los tiempos.

The next one would be "Parasyte", one of the anime series I discovered last year and absolutely loved. This series is about, as the name implies, a special type of parasite that gets inside humans and can control them. However, in the case of the main character, this process is interrupted and the 2 beings coexist in the body of the main character. These parasites are really crazy because they can modify certain body parts in ways that appear to be impossible. The parasites can be super smart and skilled. As time goes on, they become friends and allies and will have to face very intimidating enemies.

The series has a lot of touching moments, which can be hard to believe given the fact this is mainly a scifi/action series, but trust me, there are touching moments. In fact, my favorite song of this series isn't even the opening but rather this one called Next To You. That cool song always appeared while the human host and the parasite were having deep conversations, sometimes even philosophical ones. Listen to that song so you can grasp the tone of the series and realize this isn't just about action. Does that song sound like something used in fight scenes? Of course not, that one is a different type of melody and you will love it when hearing it while watching this masterpiece of a series.

La siguiente sería "Parasyte", una de las series de anime que descubrí el año pasado y me encantó. Esta serie trata, como su nombre lo indica, de un tipo especial de parásito que se mete dentro de los humanos y puede controlarlos. Sin embargo, en el caso del personaje principal, este proceso se interrumpe y los 2 seres conviven en el cuerpo del personaje principal. Estos parásitos son realmente locos porque pueden modificar ciertas partes del cuerpo de formas que parecen imposibles. Los parásitos pueden ser súper inteligentes y hábiles. A medida que pasa el tiempo, se vuelven amigos y aliados y tendrán que enfrentarse a enemigos muy intimidantes.

La serie tiene muchos momentos conmovedores, que pueden ser difíciles de creer dado que se trata principalmente de una serie de ciencia ficción/acción, pero créanme, hay momentos conmovedores. De hecho, mi canción favorita de esta serie ni siquiera es la apertura, sino una llamada Next To You . Esa canción genial siempre aparecía mientras el huésped humano y el parásito tenían conversaciones profundas, a veces incluso filosóficas. Te invito a escuchar esa canción para que puedas captar el tono de la serie y darte cuenta de que no se trata solo de acción. ¿Esa canción suena como algo usado en escenas de lucha? Por supuesto que no, esa es un tipo diferente de melodía y te encantará escucharla mientras miras esta obra maestra de serie.

When I was deciding on the third opening for this post, I had to choose between 2 dark animes, "Another" and "Ergo Proxy". I ended up choosing Another's opening because it had so many creepy scenes that I loved. "Ergo Proxy"'s opening has a better song but "Another" has better visuals and the series was better for my tastes, but it was a near tie for sure.

"Another" was the series that encouraged me to keep exploring the anime genre. I had never seen such excellent suspense being portrayed with anime and I didn't even believe it was possible but the series was simply amazing. It had creepy moments, a lot of suspense, and intriguing scenes, especially at the beginning. I really think this series deserves to be much more popular and if you enjoy the suspense genre make sure to watch this anime. You won't regret and it will probably become one of your favorite productions.

Cuando me decidí por el tercer opening para este post, tuve que elegir entre 2 animes oscuros, "Another" y "Ergo Proxy". Terminé eligiendo la apertura de Another porque tenía tantas escenas espeluznantes que amaba. La apertura de "Ergo Proxy" tiene una mejor canción, pero "Another" tiene mejores imágenes y la serie fue mejor para mi gusto, pero fue casi casi que un empate.

"Another" fue la serie que me animó a seguir explorando el género del anime. Nunca había visto un suspenso tan excelente en el anime y ni siquiera creía que fuera posible, pero la serie fue simplemente increíble. Tuvo momentos espeluznantes, mucho suspenso y escenas intrigantes, especialmente al principio. Realmente creo que esta serie merece ser mucho más popular y si disfrutas del género de suspenso, asegúrate de ver este anime. No te arrepentirás y probablemente se convierta en una de tus producciones favoritas.

This post just proves that Dragonball in any language will get me hype lol

And my lady and I loved parasite! That was such a good series. But that song will get stuck in your head after you binge watch it lol

lol have you watched the new Super Saiyan transformation? They went crazy with all those new hair colors haha

Parasyte was amazing, I was surprised because I didn't expect it to be so good.
