Last night I watched Tokyo Godfathers and sadly, this was the anime movie I have enjoyed the least. The story is about 3 homeless individuals, one teenage girl, an old man who is always drunk, and a homosexual man who feels like a woman and behaves like one.

These 3 strange characters are something like a street family, they are always together and even though there can be fights between them from time to time, they always end up supporting each other. The movie begins on Christmas eve, and while these 3 are searching the garbage to see if they can find something valuable, what they end up finding is a little baby crying and abandoned!

Anoche vi Tokyo Godfathers y lamentablemente, esta fue la película de anime que menos he disfrutado. La historia trata de 3 personas sin hogar, una adolescente, un anciano que siempre está borracho y un hombre homosexual que se siente mujer y se comporta como una.

Estos 3 extraños personajes son algo así como una familia de la calle, siempre están juntos y aunque puede haber peleas entre ellos de vez en cuando, siempre terminan apoyándose entre ellos. La película comienza en la víspera de Navidad, y mientras estos 3 buscan en la basura para ver si pueden encontrar algo valioso, ¡lo que terminan encontrando es un pequeño bebé llorando y abandonado!

After the initial shock, they all decide to take care of the baby and figure out how to return this baby to a safe place. The gay guy is all excited because he always wanted to be the "mom" of a baby girl, so he is the one in charge of babying it for the most part. They decide to keep the baby for the night and try to return it in the morning.

There were a lot of discussions and fights with constant insults between these 3 characters, it is clear they wrote these dialogues expecting the viewers to laugh but I didn't find them very funny and so many insults get tiresome after a while. Maybe this is why the film didn't work for me. It was an attempt at comedy that wasn't effective this time.

Después del shock inicial, todos deciden cuidar al bebé y descubrir cómo devolverlo a un lugar seguro. El chico gay está muy emocionado porque siempre quiso ser la "mamá" de una niña, por lo que es el encargado de cuidarla en su mayor parte. Deciden quedarse con el bebé por la noche e intentar devolverlo por la mañana.

Hubo muchas discusiones y peleas con insultos constantes entre estos 3 personajes, está claro que escribieron estos diálogos esperando que los espectadores se rieran pero no los encontré muy divertidos y tantos insultos se vuelven aburridos después de un tiempo. Quizás por eso la película no me gustó. Fue un intento de comedia que no fue efectivo esta vez.

While they have this baby all sorts of crazy things will happen to them, they obviously find baby food to feed it, but it is a miracle the baby ended up alive after so much crazy stuff going on. The 3 homeless individuals are able to begin tracking down the baby's origins because along with the baby there was also a key with it, which opened a locker in a train station. The most logical decision would have been to go straight to the police, but this isn't what they did. They will wander through the city, in winter, with little money, and will even encounter very dangerous individuals in this bizarre journey.

The movie has a happy ending as expected, I think it is a Christmas film after all, but some of the dialogues were annoying to me and these characters tended to act in a very irrational way. The writer tried to add valuable messages to the viewers related to the importance of family and love, but that didn't save the film for me. I would only recommend this movie to younger audiences and people in the mood for watching a silly Japanese anime.

Mientras tengan este bebé les sucederán todo tipo de cosas locas, obviamente encuentran comida para bebés para alimentarlo, pero es un milagro que el bebé termine con vida después de tantas locuras sucediendo. Las 3 personas sin hogar pueden comenzar a rastrear los orígenes del bebé porque junto con el bebé también había una llave, que abrió un casillero en una estación de tren. La decisión más lógica hubiera sido ir directamente a la policía, pero no fue así. Vagarán por la ciudad, en invierno, con poco dinero, e incluso se encontrarán con individuos muy peligrosos en este extraño viaje.

La película tiene un final feliz como se esperaba, creo que es una película navideña después de todo, pero algunos de los diálogos me molestaban y estos personajes tendían a actuar de una manera muy irracional. El escritor trató de agregar mensajes valiosos a los espectadores relacionados con la importancia de la familia y el amor, pero eso no me salvó la película. Solo recomendaría esta película a un público más joven y a personas con ganas de ver un anime japonés tonto.
