Ornery? You? Not at all π π
No sex scenes? That sounds right up my street. One of my many objections to modern movies is too many sex scenes, and same sex, even worse, though I know it's not PC to say so. I think the last really good movie I saw was 'As good as it gets' and that was 1997 π

This doesn't offend me. What offends me is the deliberate insertion of a political view in the show/movie. It seems we have to count heads to see how many demographic groups are represented in the show/movie. We've gone to complete exclusion of groups (which was not 'real') to bean counting. It's got to the point where I say OK, there's the token so and so. It's just irritating, I agree.
I once lived with three gay men, so same-sex sex scenes don't particularly offend me; they just irritate me, for precisely the reasons you mention.
I think you have material for three books, based on your life :))
