Hello movie lovers!
Today I will discuss the Bollywood film entitled Sukhee. It's been a long time since I watched a Bollywood film, then my friend recommended this film. Because this film is broadcast on Netflix, I can watch it immediately when I have time. By the way, it's been a long time since I watched a film starring Shilpa Setty, so actually the reason I watched this film was because of the main character. At first, I had no idea what this film was about. I only watched it because my friend recommended it and because I wanted to watch Shilpa Shetty's acting again.

SUKHEE

Story

Sukhee, a housewife who has a teenage daughter. Sukhee's daily life is very boring, just taking care of her family every day. One day he received an invitation to his campus reunion event in the city and he really wanted to attend the event. But unfortunately her husband didn't give her permission, so Sukhee decided to leave secretly. Sukhee felt very happy because he could finally reminisce with his friends. However, her relationship with her husband and children is strained. Sukhee felt unappreciated by her husband and children, so she finally decided to stay longer in the city. Actually, when he was young, Sukhee was a campus idol who had many skills, but after getting married his life changed completely. She dedicates her life to her family, but her husband and children don't seem to appreciate it.

Some scenes related to real life and my opinion about this

First of all, I want to discuss the story of this film. This film depicts the patriarchy that occurs in our society, especially in Asia. A married woman must always obey her husband's words. A housewife has to take care of all matters at home such as cooking, washing clothes, cleaning the house, and much more. I think the story is very realistic and relates to the lives of housewives around me. This film depicts the story of a housewife who feels tired and bored with her daily life and wants to refresh herself by attending a reunion but her husband doesn't allow it. Scenes like this often happen in real life. Personally, I think patriarchal culture should be eliminated.Because I think this patriarchal culture is very detrimental to women. Another point of this film that I think is good is that the film also teaches husbands to respect their wives more. After a long marriage, the husband's attention will usually decrease and the wife will feel like she is no longer loved. It is better for men to pay more attention to their wives. When watching this film, I felt like I could feel what Sukhee felt. He seemed to lose himself after getting married. I think in real life, many housewives also feel this. Why is that? Can't married women still do what they love?

Then children also have to respect their mothers more. In this film there is a scene that made me annoyed with her daughter. She treated her mother badly and even called her mother selfish.Even though I don't have children, I feel hurt when a child doesn't respect his parents, let alone saying harsh words. I think teaching children good manners from an early age is something that parents must do, so that children can respect them more when they grow up.

Another scene I want to discuss is about Sukhee's friends. They are the people Sukhee misses and they are also the ones who always give encouragement. But there is one thing that I don't agree with, when Sukhee almost had problems with her husband, they even advised Sukhee to separate and date another man. Even though I think they could give better advice. In real life, this happens a lot, many friends give wrong advice which ultimately makes their friends make the wrong decisions.

The cast

To be honest, I don't know any other cast member except Shilpa Shetty. So, I will only discuss Shilpa who plays the role of Sukhee in this film. I was surprised to see Shilpa Setty's appearance, who still looks beautiful at the age of 48 years. What surprised me most was her body shape which looked like she was 20 years old. It's been a long time since I watched the film, Sukhee's role in this film really suits her. There are scenes when he rides a horse and rides a big motorbike, I think it's very cool. It's nice to see him acting after so long.

That's all my opinion about this film and some of the messages I got after watching this film. I hope you like the review I made. Thanks for reading and see you soon!

What you talk about partisanship is very real and happens in all social strata. In my western society, women work in the street, then go home to work, never have time for themselves and are still called "the 'weaker' sex". Surely this is a film I would watch. Thank you for commenting.

(Edited)

Because this is happening all around me. Many of my married friends experienced the same thing as in this film. In my country, patriarchal culture is still very strong. Even though wives work, they still have to fulfill their obligations as housewives and obey everything their husband says. Yeah, i think you should watch this film.

Thank you for stopping by!
