La cumbre escarlata es una película de terror del 2015 dirigida por el mexicano Guillermo del Toro y narra la historia de Sir Thomas Sharpe, un baronet inglés que viajó a Estados Unidos con su hermana, Lucille y allí conoce a Edith Cushing, una joven escritora a quien en repetidas ocasiones se le aparece el fantasma de su madre quien le advierte: "Cuidado con la Cumbre Escarlata". Thomas y Edith se enamoran, se casan y ella viaja con él a una casa en ruinas ubicada sobre una mina de arcilla. Allí Edith comienza a ver unos fantasmas rojos y a descubrir cosas aterradoras del pasado de su esposo. A continuación te dejo algunas de las curiosidades de la película.
The Scarlet Summit is a 2015 horror film directed by Mexican Guillermo del Toro and tells the story of Sir Thomas Sharpe, an English baronet who traveled to the United States with his sister, Lucille, and there meets Edith Cushing, a young writer. who repeatedly appears to him the ghost of his mother who warns him: "Beware of the Scarlet Summit." 1. Originalmente Benedict Cumberbatch iba a ser el protagonista de La Cumbre Escarlata pero abandonó el proyecto por razones personales. Por lo que tuvo que ser sustituido por Tom Hiddleston quien interpreta a Loki el hermano de Thor en las películas de Marvel.
- Benedict Cumberbatch was originally going to be the protagonist of Scarlet Summit but he abandoned the project for personal reasons. So he had to be replaced by Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki, Thor's brother in the Marvel movies.
2. Inicialmente Emma Stone iba a interpretar a Edith pero por coincidir con otras propuestas de trabajo fue sustituida por Mia Wasikowska la actriz que le da vida a Alicia en el país de las maravillas.
- Initially Emma Stone was going to play Edith but because it coincided with other work proposals, she was replaced by Mia Wasikowska, the actress who plays Alice in Wonderland.
3. La gigantesca casa donde va a vivir la pareja realmente fue construida y todo lo que estaba en ella fue hecho especialmente para la grabación. Pero al terminar las grabaciones tuvo que ser derribada ya que el estudio necesitaba ese espacio.
- The gigantic house where the couple is going to live was actually built and everything in it was made especially for the recording. But when the recordings finished, it had to be torn down since the studio needed that space.
4. Guillermo del Toro escribió alrededor de 12 versiones de la película hasta que se decidió por la versión grabada.

5. Universal Studios quería que la película se estrenara en la fecha de Halloween pero la película no iba a estar lista hasta diciembre de 2014 o inicios del siguiente año por lo que retrasaron su lanzamiento hasta octubre del 2015.
- Universal Studios wanted the film to be released on Halloween but the film was not going to be ready until December 2014 or the beginning of the following year, so they delayed its release until October 2015.
6. Mia Wasikowska y Tom Hiddleston ya habían rabajado juntos en la película Solo los amantes sobreviven en el 2013.

9. Cuando Tomas le declara su amor a Edith le dice que sus corazones están conectados, y que si la conexión se rompiese él sufriría. Esta es una frase de la novela Jane Eyre de Charlotte Bronte y su adaptación al cine fue protagonizada por Mia Wasikowska, y su pareja en el filme le dijo casi lo mismo cuando le declaró su amor.
- When Tomas declares his love to Edith, he tells her that their hearts are connected, and that if the connection were broken he would suffer. This is a phrase from the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and its film adaptation starred Mia Wasikowska, and her partner in the film told her almost the same thing when he declared his love for her.

La película sí estuvo buena; pero realmente no aterroriza mucho. La única escena que realmente me asustó fue la del cadáver saliendo de la bañera. Vean la película y saquen sus propias conclusiones.
