The story follows Richard Pace (Brosnan), a brilliant and elusive international thief who has just escaped from a maximum-security prison. Shortly after his escape, he is recruited by "The Misfits"—a band of modern-day, Robin Hood-style thieves who steal from powerful criminals to exact their own brand of justice.
Their mission is to convince Pace to pull off the heist of the century: stealing millions of dollars in gold bars kept in one of the world's most secure prisons, located in the Middle East. The twist? The gold belongs to a criminal organization that uses it to fund global terrorism.
Amidst car chases, high-tech gadgets, and meticulously planned schemes, Pace must decide whether he’s only in it for the money or if he’ll use his skills to do some good alongside his new "family" of renegades.
To be honest, it’s an entertaining movie for a Sunday afternoon when you don't want to think too hard, though cinematically, it falls a bit flat.
Pierce Brosnan’s charisma: The man was born to wear a suit and look elegant. Even though he’s no longer James Bond, he still possesses that sophisticated, charming aura that carries the film through sheer presence alone.
Visually, it’s striking. It features lavish locations (lots of Dubai), expensive cars, impeccable suits, and a fast pace that feels like a music video. You won't get bored, as there’s always something happening.
Shallow characters: The "Misfits" team has fun skills (the explosives expert, the strategist, etc.), but they lack real development. They exist mainly to drive the plot forward, and their motivation to act as "modern-day Robin Hoods" feels a bit forced.
In my view, it’s a 6/10 kind of movie. It’s ideal if you’re looking for light action, Caribbean or Asian luxury, ridiculously complex heists, and a way to spend two hours completely unplugged from the real world. But if you’re looking for an intelligent or substantial spy thriller, it will probably leave you wanting more.

La historia sigue a Richard Pace (Brosnan), un brillante y escurridizo ladrón internacional que acaba de escapar de una prisión de máxima seguridad. Poco después de su escape, es reclutado por "Los Misfits" (Los Renegados), una banda de ladrones modernos al estilo Robin Hood que roban a criminales poderosos para hacer justicia por su cuenta.
Su misión es convencer a Pace para llevar a cabo el atraco del siglo, robar millones de dólares en lingotes de oro resguardados en una de las prisiones más seguras del mundo, ubicada en el Medio Oriente. El giro es que ese oro pertenece a una organización criminal que lo utiliza para financiar el terrorismo global.
A ritmo de persecuciones, tecnología y planes milimétricos, Pace debe decidir si solo le interesa el dinero o si usará sus habilidades para hacer el bien junto a su nueva "familia" de renegados.
Si te soy sincera esta es una película entretenida para pasar el rato un domingo por la tarde si no quieres pensar mucho, pero cinematográficamente se queda bastante floja.
El carisma de Pierce Brosnan: El hombre nació para llevar traje y verse elegante. Aunque ya no es James Bond, sigue teniendo ese aura de tipo sofisticado y encantador que sostiene la película por pura presencia.
Visualmente es muy llamativa. Tiene locaciones lujosas (mucho Dubái), autos caros, trajes impecables y un ritmo rápido que emula un video musical. No te vas a aburrir porque siempre está pasando algo.
Personajes superficiales: El equipo de "Los Renegados" tiene habilidades divertidas (el experto en explosivos, la estratega, etc.), pero apenas tienen desarrollo. Están ahí para hacer avanzar la trama y su motivación de ser "Robin Hoods modernos" se siente un poco forzada.
Mi punto de vista creo que es una película con un puntaje de 6/10. Ideal si buscas acción ligera, lujo caribeño/asiático, robos ridículamente complejos y pasar dos horas desconectado del mundo. Pero si buscas un thriller de espionaje inteligente o con sustancia, probablemente te deje con ganas de más.
