Espero estén muy bien, yo quiero venir aquí con una reseña de una serie que me dejó loca y me entretuvo cada capítulo, yo quiero hablar de “El gabinete de curiosidades de Guillermo del Toro” de verdad una serie que pueden conseguir por Netflix y siento que disfrutaran llena de horror e historias interesantes.

Recordemos que yo no soy muy fan de estos géneros, pero la verdad es que me puse como meta poco a poco familiarizarme con estos géneros y quitarles el miedo, si llega a tener momentos con sustos o “screams” verlos para acostumbrarme para así no perderme de clásicos o grandes creaciones de este género y siento que esta serie fue una de esas opciones, porque estamos hablando de Guillermo del Toro que es un gran director y productor de muchas obras hasta ganadoras de un Oscar y varios premios, entonces yo me dije – la tengo que ver-.

De verdad que cada capítulo tiene algo que hará que no pares de verlo, que te perturbe hasta el punto que te preguntes “si existiera algo así… ¿haría eso?” porque el hecho de que la mayoría de las historias estén basados en ambientes donde los extraterrestres de alguna manera llegan hasta la tierra, hace que la curiosidad se encienda a mil. Algunos capítulos recomiendo de verdad no verlos mientras comes, porque puedes asquearte de una manera muy fuerte, y de verdad aplaudí demasiado por ello, ya que de verdad necesitaba algo así de diferente, venía de disfrutar series donde el sexo o el drama es el protagonista de la trama, pero en este caso es el perturbar, lo bizarro y tenebroso.

Some chapters I really recommend not to watch them while eating, because you can get disgusted in a very strong way, and I really applauded too much for it, because I really needed something different like this, I came from enjoying series where sex or drama is the protagonist of the plot, but in this case is the disturbing, the bizarre and scary.
Muchos directores de la mano del Toro | Many directors from the hand of del Toro
Algo que me gustó mucho de esta serie es la idea de Guillermo del Toro de agarrar y reunirse con muchos directores para ponerse de acuerdo que historia quiere contar y crearle su capítulo, desde historias de Lovecraft hasta del mismo Guillermo del Toro. Lo más emocionante también es que esta serie salió con la noticia que tendrá una segunda temporada y no repetirán ningún director, entonces se pueden venir aún más ideas y representaciones muy diferentes e increíbles.
Something that I really liked about this series is the idea of Guillermo del Toro to grab and meet with many directors to agree on what story he wants to tell and create his chapter, from Lovecraft's stories to Guillermo del Toro's own. Cada capítulo tiene su esencia, y por su puesto eso me agradó demasiado porque se notaba mucho la diferencia de directores, siento que me gustó más que Love Death and Robots de 2022, es decir la temporada que sacaron en 2022, solo porque todos los directores de esta temporada lograron sacarte una “chispa”, como un momento donde te alarmabas y decías “WOW ¿QUÉ?” así fuera del miedo, del asco o del plot twist de la historia, puede que pase que en las siguientes temporadas pase que algún capítulo no sea tan impactante, o empiecen a compararlos con los anteriores y le pase como Love Death and Robots, donde no le prestes atención a mucho y solo compares.

Igual siento que Guillermo del toro al tomar este riesgo de crear esta serie, que por lo chistosa que soy y por lo largo del título yo la llamo “la gaveta del toro”, se puso como objetivo es mostrarnos a nosotros como público todas esas historias que hay por allí en libros, cuentos o que se hicieron hace años y plasmarlos con las ideas de directores que tienen una visión del ahora, de cómo al público de estos años nos atrapan las historias y en esta primera temporada de verdad que lo hicieron muy bien, todos los capítulos me los disfrute a un nivel muy grande y eso que me puse tensa en muchos momentos.

Esta parte del post siento que tendrá spoilers, pero de un solo capítulo, porque eso es lo emocionante de hacer una reseña de este tipo de series, que al menos que hables de todos los capítulos no es dar muchos spoilers porque ningún capítulo se continua con el otro. Este del que quiero hablar es mi favorito por todo lo que me hizo sentir en todo momento, desde la cinematografía la escena donde se desarrolla toda la trama principal, la historia y como termina está muy bien hecho y narrado de una manera excelente.

Esta parte me recordó a un juego llamado “The Mortuary Assistant” donde todo lo que ocurre y debes hacer es en ese salón lleno de cadáveres que debes ir poco a poco hacerles una autopsia anotar y suceden cosas anormales. En esta oportunidad es porque un alíen fue de cuerpo en cuerpo evolucionando y buscando la manera de crecer lo más posible para ver que podía hacer con la humanidad, a nivel de conquistarlos porque sabía demasiado sobre nuestra especie y se hace llamar superior.

De verdad que este capítulo fue una joya completa también por las escenas, donde vemos al protagonista amarrado y desesperado porque el alíen, que estaba en el cuerpo de un humano, se iba abriendo el cuerpo poco a poco para así salir y trasladarse hacia nuestro protagonista. Pero este señor es demasiado inteligente, pues el hombre básicamente se apuñalo los oídos, los ojos y se cortó el cuello, haciendo que el cuerpo que era inevitable que el alíen iba a poseer, fuera completamente inútil, algo increíble y también inteligente pues el alíen al vernos como cebo siempre su objetivo ha sido “que no descubran nada de nosotros”, pero no fue lo suficientemente inteligente porque también todo lo que decían estaba siendo grabado en una cinta para la investigación de todo el principio.

Miren todo este capítulo me hizo sentir demasiadas cosas al mismo tiempo, desde confusión hasta desesperación para luego gritar “¿NO Y QUE ERES MÁS INTELIGENTE QUE NOSOTROS?” y cosas así, porque todo fue mucha adrenalina de la increíble para emocionarte y quedar satisfecho con un final donde por lo menos los humanos correctos iban a tener la información que tanto ocultaban y que asesino a varios inocentes sin mucho sentido. Este capítulo lo dirigió David Prior, un director que no ha tenido muchos proyectos, pero tuvo una película que llamó mucho la atención “The Empty Man” donde demuestra lo que también demostró en este capítulo, él sabe cómo realizar una buena narrativa con horror que te atrape y aunque te asuste o asquee algo no dejes de interesarte.

Me encantaría hablar de otro capítulo de esta serie, pero eso lo dejare en otro post completamente diferente ¿Por qué? Porque es una crítica a muchas cosas sociales en nuestra vida cotidiana llevado a lo más perturbador posible, tiene un mensaje muy bueno y su desarrollo de verdad que me hizo sentir tan incómoda que merece una explicación mucho más detallada.
Les recomiendo demasiado esta serie, si ya la vieron quiero me digan en los comentarios que les pareció y si no, VAYAN VEANLA POR FAVOR, es muy buena y entretenida como muchísimas cosas que ha hecho Guillermo del Toro, espero les haya gustado el post, así como a mí me encantó hacerlo.

No soy muy fan de este género, ya que soy demasiado miedosa JAJA pero la reseña que hiciste hace que me llame mucho la atención y hasta me dan ganas de verla, sólo necesito una buena compañía para irle perdiendo el miedo 🤣🫠
Cuando salió esta serie estaba super emocionada por verla pero cuando comencé a hacerlo me decepcioné bastante, creo que hubo solamente un par de capítulos que me parecieron realmente buenos. Mi favorito fue el del pintor, me pareció espectacular como se desarrolló y aunque no me asustó mucho que digamos, me gustó bastante 😌
Yo esperaba que lo mejor fuera lo lovecraftiano, pero al final fue el episodio de las ratas mi gran favorito. El detalle que amé es que el episodio entero está diseñado para desesperarte. Más allá de la claustrofobia o el asco que producen las ratas, el protagonista toma decisiones tan absurdas que por sí mismo parece que intenta crear una sensación de frustración en el espectador por querer gritarle que es un idiota.
Me gustó mucho "Pinocchio" hecha por del Toro por lo que está serie suena también muy interesante, siempre es bueno intentar ver otros géneros para tener variedad. Buen post, te mando un fuerte abrazo desde la distancia. 🤗💜

No he podido ver esta serie (que veré sin duda), pero el título me recordó a una entrevista a Guillermo donde mostraba su casa. Curiosidades por todas partes, creó su propio mundo, es espectacular la mente de este maravilloso director.
A mi me encantó esta serie, cada capítulo con un caso o historia diferente, uno más interesante que el anterior y por supuesto con mucho horror, de este género es muy difícil encontrar algo realmente bueno pero esta serie sin duda lo tenía todo.

Hola, tu reseña me despierta la curiosidad por una serie a la cual hasta hace muy poco desconocía por completo y que hace muy poco me recomendaron, ahora tras leerte me motivo aún más a verla. En realidad, no soy muy fan de Del Toro, algunas de sus películas me gustan, pero no me parece el genio que algunos ven en él, sin embargo, me da la impresión de que esta serie podría ser de las obras de este cineasta que se encuentran en el grupo de las que me gustan.
